Well, finally got all of the oak hauled out at that big job we did for the last month.......my buddy an I BOTH ended up with a pile this big from that job.....almost enough wood to replace what we'll burn this entire season!! Its all red and white oak, and I'm looking forward to processing it! As you can see in the pics I still have some of those huge sugar maple rounds to process also. And we're already scheduling jobs for the upcoming new year! A view from my deck towards the neighbors.... Most of the rounds are in the 20-30" diameter range........they were nice, tall, straight trees!
Wow Scotty! That's quite a mound. Looks like quite a few trees between you guys. Should be ready in 5 years when you go through your 30+ cords
I'm a bit jealous, but this ice storm has destroyed enough trees around here, that my phone is blowing up. I've got 15 of my own busted to chit. Major mess, & no time with Christmas to clean it up. Oh well, they ain't going any where. A C

Wow. It's so awesome to have wood coming in to replace what you have/will burn for the season. Got to keep going, money in the bank. And you get paid to take that wood! You do work hard for it, no question about that.
Those are great! Nice straight splits and lots of them, that will be a great pile of nice splits. Doesn't look like any uglysmwill will come out of those.
It would really be sweet to have that much oak. It is weird here. We do not have much oak but three other properties bordering us has mostly oak. Hum...
Well, a little update. .... Didnt go hunting on Saturday, decided to split wood instead....worked for almost 4 hrs just on that huge sugar maple trunk on rhe pic and the largest of the red oak rounds .....the maple trunk is over 200yrs old, around 4' diameter, and was FULL of metal (all handforged nails and spikes), had to sharpen my chain three times just to piece that trunk apart. Got most of the REALLY big stuff done before having to quit for the day. Didnt get to split at all on Sunday thanks to a torrential rain all day long....... Going to hit it again after work today and over the next two days.....
