For Free, just a little to far for me to go at 120 mile round trip

    FREE Locust Fire Wood

This is unseasoned locust wood, which should burn nicely next winter. It's in very large rounds, and it's extremely hard/heavy wood. You load and haul.
You'll need to probably split it a bit before you're able to lift it to haul away.

If you see this ad, it's still available.

That would be nice if it were right around the corner rather than 60 miles away.

    Yes it is.
For the longest time I was under the impression that we had no really decent hardwoods here in western Wa with the exception of Madrona which no one ever cuts down.

But have since found out that yes we do have some black locust here and now that I know what it looks like I keep an eye out for it, there is a huuuge one i drive by on my way to work

I well go to Seattle but no way I am going to Tacoma/Fife even if it is Locust.

I actually have a small load of Locust I picked up on Capital Hill area of Seattle last year

Great X-section pics. I've never burned locust, but can tell from those pics that stuff is hard as a rock, and likely heavy as one as well. Sounds like you're probably at least a year away from testing it out.

Cleaned out a stand of pines for a neighbor a few years back he wanted all the locust removed :dex: payment was in the form of everything I cut down. Heavy and hard are an understatement but it burns great to bad Im a bit far away in NY

Locust either variety as good as Oak. Black dries out a bit quicker than Honey, both are a bit quicker to lose moisture than most oaks and particularly White Oak. I swear that stuff is hermetically sealed.
