That 300/ton...still not too shabby. Lesson learned for you on not pulling the trigger at this time of year they only go up at the pellet houses.

Okie was bagging LaCrete's under the Platinum line up until the end of 2014 or there abouts

That's odd, cause the reason she got the Platimuns in oct-Nov 2014 was that the Lacretes were unavailable-and the Okies were more $$
Guess they rebagged too many of the Lacretes and upped the price

I totally agree that simple is the way to go.

If you're serious, send me a pm and let's talk.

I think the LaCrete's were in the Platinum bag for about 1.5 years up to that point.

Interesting. Lacrete did not sell pellets for burning the previous year (2013). Word was they sold all as bulk to a company in Canada to be used as oil cleanup. That never made sense to me.

    Serious about what?
That I would build a new site for a truckload?
Hell ya... I'd build him a new site for a truckload of pellets any day...
When I offered to update the one we have,
he just told me about all the people that like the current one.
A 1.25 man operation selling a couple thousand ton a year
    doesn't need a $7-8,000 website...... :picard:

I burned North Country in 2013. Great pellet, but IMHO LaCrete were a bit better. Slightly better heat and less ash from Lacrete.

Many mills sold to the oil sands operation. They got top dollar. More than we'd pay as they were a write off for the oil people or so I was told. For a good bit we could not get Spruce Pointe's because of this. Same thing for HeartLands here in the U.S. Some of the oil fields were scooping them up faster than they could make them.

I do not know why they use wood pellets to clean up the spills/mess's, But assume that they can some how extract the oil back out of it like the oil sands. Or they burn it off in plants to cr4eate power from it?? Just a wild guess. tis all.

La Crete's sawmill has been around since 1989 and with an abundant supply of fiber from the saw mill. It was a no brainer to step into the pellet market with all that fiber. Available in CA for a while until a pellet rep contracted the mill and brought them to New England.....

They have a brief story on the site on how they started.

If they are burning the oil soaked pellets they are likely not generating chit with it. Kinda like flashing of natural gas from oil wells. One would think if you are producing natural gas a precious resource you would capture it and sell it. Well lots of time they dont they just burn it as it is a byproduct. Business is a funny thing.

Doubt you will find a more fair person...

Last few years we have brought coal to a man in Maine that
has a bad back, and is fairly sickly.
We bring over 2 tons, 100 bags, cut them open, and fill his outside bin.
Bring all the bags, covers and pallets back with us.
Give him a break on the stuff, and charge normal delivery.
Yeah.... Just like the BBS would do.......
But that's the way he wants to do it....

Thanks for sharing Dan. That kind of customer service is practically extinct these days. Great to hear it does still exist in some places.

My bad :emb:...it was Spruce Pointe that were unavailable due to selling to oil companies 2 years ago.

But last November, the supplier we use did not have any Lacrete and couldnt get them. Since I buy in the spring, I already had my stash of Lacrete :)
