If it were me I would run it on the lowest setting that keeps you comfortable. The stove should cycle less often.

I have been burning for an hour or two almost every night since I started. A little more on the weekends. I love that the EP has a real low setting. The West Point would have gone on/off a hundred times already this year.

Just opened bag 5 here - we're tired of hearing the FHA furnace cycle already, and it's October.

Hey, Thanks for that! Still have to pull the window air conditioners, Thanks for the reminder.. :p

That's a nice looking stove! What model Enviro, please?

On the stove here we run at middle setting to start / until the stove is heat soaked, then stove automatically backs down to 'modulate' mode / lowest setting (1.0 lb/hr) until the thermoprobe calls for heat again.

Point being we've found here it is much easier to run at lowest setting, after getting the stove up to temp. / heat-soaked, before backing down to low setting.

    Hi CleanFire,

The stove is an Enviro M55C. We had it installed at the end of August so still playing with settings and such. It hasn't been cold enough to run it too long, but I will keep it at the lower settings for now.

I like the on/off as well as high/low option, so will likely switch to high/low when we get deeper into October.

We've been turning the stove on just before bed and off again just before we go to work so my son(who might forget to turn off the stove) can open the widows and slider once he gets home from school. Its only fired on the chilly mornings and for the most part has been off for the last week or so. That is as long as dad turns it on before bed............ Funny I don't have a problem remembering to turn it off before I head off to work................... :emb: Good thing it hasn't been too chilly on the oopsie mornings I forgot!! :pain:

It will be on for sure Thursday AM if it gets as low as they predict and surely this weekend. :shiver:
