What rods are you using that won't weld overhead? 7018 3/32" will weld pretty good around 90 amps overhead.

To be honest, its been years ago. Probably 6011 or 6013. I don't even remember which digit in the number indicates welding positions. What ever I was using, my brother could weld overhead with no prob. It was just my lack of skill.

Yeah that it's what was happening yesterday. My garage(sweet shed, not so much a garage) won't hold my truck. I parked right next to the overhead door. Had my feet and legs in the warm garage and the rest of me was under the truck. Far from the best set up, but it got the job done. The shielding gas was blowing away if I didn't have the tip perfect.

3rd number is for positions. 1 is all, 2 is flat/horizontal.

CMM Programmer/technical inspector at a plant that is split between making small automotive parts and making brass bullet casings. Been there for 14 years.

As well as being Mom and wife and going to tech college part time.

When I'm not doing all that I love to spend my days in the boat catching some big Wi bass with my Hubby and kids.
