image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg A view from top floor of our house. Two of these piles were very big with some whole trees/logs in them. I have burned all three down to almost gone now. A good distance away for a phone picture. And I got my nice shirt all smoky and dirty!

Okay. Took a seriously hot shower and got cleaned up. Felt great after spending most of the day outside in the rain and loading fires with washing skunk dogs in between!

Now I can relax a bit while I sit in the truck and watch the kids warm up for their soccer game.

Got on the plane and was immediately informed we have been grounded due to weather and can't take off for 1 hour. Going to be a long night.

56 hours in 4 days - good thing its my Wednesday:pete:.
This was supposed to be an easy maintenance outage except only 2 of the 6 contractors I'm dealing with have had their chit together.

3 days left. weekend should be easy doing what I should've been doing past two days plus what I scheduled for work sat&sun:headbang:

Funny C-list Rant saw this other day - good chuckle

    Facebook freaks

I am trying to make friends outside of my Facebook while applying the same principles.

Therefore, every single day, I walk down the street and tell passers-by and what I have eaten, how I feel at the moment, who I slept with the night before, what family member I'm not speaking with, etc.

I give them pictures of my entire family to include my dog. Pics of me standing in front of landmarks, selfies of me doing the duck lip pose, watering the lawn and various other private pics.

I also stop to listen to private conversations and give a thumbs up and tell them I like them.

It works too just like Facebook!
I already have 4 people following me. 2 police officers, a private investigator and a psychiatrist.

As we were working, I asked if she had ever written down the recipe? No, I know what it is. She learned from her mother so we usually reminisce about her while the work is going on. Made 470 of those little devils today!

Update!!!!! It's been nearly 3 weeks since I've been here. Let me tell you (anyone that is not doing this) it is not easy. Our entire world has been turned upside down, none of the typical things I would do is typical anymore, I do everything for 2 people at all times now. Driving Mr. Daisy, dr appts, meals daily, help in the little boys room. Holy crap already.
My marriage is suffering and I'm not sure where this will take us. My wife has been working later than normal at the office, granted she bills more hours but I'd rather have her with me. Since I'm the common denominator for both parties it's hard sharing my time.
Since the stove is not quite ready yet I haven't burned at all, not that I would have just yet anyways, but he's cold all the time so the heat has been on. And the room he is staying in has the thermostat, so he plays with it when he walks by it. I walked in the house Monday this week to the digital readout at 77 deg. :headbang:
I'm about to find him an inexpensive apartment for the time being and have a home health aid come in 1x a day to help him out. It's going to be a push come to shove situation in short time. Ugggh

Hard to like your post My IS heats my home , but wanted to show some support for you and your situation.
Do what's right for you. No one should judge you for doing that.

A good friend of mine reminded me that everyone does the best they can in most situations and it looks as though you're surely doing the same. While it won't help much, you might be comforted that the parent care giver army is huge. You're in good company. And, some have an easier time of it and some far worse. Really does sound as though you're doing all you can and that it's hard as h*ll. As mentioned, you'll no doubt do what you need to to make it all work out. Good luck...

Caffeine going down. Time to clean the boiler room, clean the boiler, check all seals and adjust the doors if needed. Then, clean the parts of the chimney pipe that need it. Then move some wood into the basement and fire up the boiler. This should take up a good part of the morning. Time to move the radio down into the boiler room and listen to some tunes while all this is going on. :rootintootin:

Hang in there IS--was just in a similar situation with my father.

Got a 1.5 loads of pin oak last night--had a fire and a few brews. Was a perfect ending to a day full of meetings, just awful!!!!
