I hope you get your 441 sorted out with the dealer.

I was unable to vote in your pole, because I didn't see the option "have the dealer buy it back and walk out the door with a new 461" :)

    :D

That is a good option as well!!

But as many stated, the dealer needs to show some responsibility. The saw is still under warranty. If you wait longer and the problem gets worse? Your stuck with a $1,000 problem.

I'd complain more. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

    I'd be calling Stihl corporate.

Ya I told him I have seen pictures of the saw and he still said I have never heard of it. I hope it's the 442. I like the look of the clutch cover.

Keep on them Chris. Be aware that the 441 is not available at this time, so Stihl is giving their dealers 100.00 off on the 461. I would ask for a 461 in exchange.

I agree with Mastermind. Also, if the dealer becomes difficult there are options which work. Politely mention that if they are unable to resolve, you will call Fred Whyte, the President of Stihl's USA Operations.....worked for me with two other companies that would not honor the warranties....good luck

So should I just ask them to replace the saw when I arrive to the dealer today is that possible or I should have them try to fix the saw I have first and if that doesn't work then I ask to replace the saw

official the stihl dont have say anything about 442 - 462 even in the germany , so the picture above or is a pro photoshop , or is a china factory. think only that they (stihl ) tell about the carbon saw immediately even if this saw dont come out for the next years.
Also i dont think that the stihl come with a 462 -442 without be mtronic or injection technology , see the holes at the top cover and you see the tuning holes, and the carb see it its a old school , so all theese smell ..............
for the dealers now the most are good but they have confuse and put the mtronics to this fricking MDG1 thinking that this tool is a autoservice tool and can fixed the saw automatically even if the saw need a piston changing or a seal . the MDG1 is only a new edition electrical parts diagnostic or if you like a new edition tachometer, specialy designed more for injections systems see cutter 500i and not too much for mtronics, So the next time that you see your dealer tell him to put the MDG1 to his ........ and take the pressure-vaccum pump to diagnose the saw
