I still post over there, and sometimes I'll post identical threads just to see if there is any difference in the type of responses I get. One thing I've concluded is you have more sense of humour here. My "Another use for a wedge" thread over there got 394 views so far and only 4 likes. Over here the same thread got 302 views so far and 24 likes. You guys still need some work though, there are 278 of you who don't seem to have a sense of humour.
Scotty Overkill I'm just gonna say it. Anyone who starts kicking people off a forum, because they didn't show up for a shindig ---- is a blithering idiot and shouldn't even own a dammed forum. There, I said it! so, nyah! I'm 43 and been around the block a few times and I've seen some very strange stuff on the 'net. but, that's..... that's one of the strangest ones ever.
What amazes me is how "open armed" most of our members are to newbies here, and how quick everyone is to help them out. I hope more of our "silent members" can muster up the courage to post up and join in the conversation.....too bad we couldn't rent a hall somewhere and have a big "Meet-N-Greet" Thanksgiving meal...it'd have to be a big place! That'd turn into a great time!!
I sure agree with that thought Scott. It would be great to hear from the many quiet members who have not posted about their set-ups and stoves and wishes and wants as they enjoy heating with wood. I really look forward to seeing them and I know I'm not alone. That's one of the things that makes this place so much fun.
That's what our motto was from DAY ONE. And we've done good to hold true to our word with NO ADVERTISING. That ain't an easy thing to do, trust me.... So far though, so good!!
Yep...we are much friendlier. It took alot of posts before to get enough interest in anything about a user. I actually got posts locked down in the past after disagreements with the mods. Oh well...the past is the past
Great post Scotty! But can you really imagine what a meet-n-greet would be like with this entire bunch? Can you imagine how much beer it would take? Just read through the threads. There are a lot of guys who really like beer!
I like beer, but I'm cautious of it. I want my liver to work, and I have a friend that gets his stomach drained because his liver died. Ugh!!!
Lately I've been having a "caramel apple" before bed every night... A glass of local, natural cider with a double shot of salted caramel vodka in it!! Man they make me happy!!
I can't drink beer, I'm allergic to it. I drink 14 beers and then throw up. Actually I haven't had a real beer for 9 years, now I drink those "near beers" (.5% alcohol) and get the taste, but not the repercussions. Works for me.
