Did that for the last 6 years of work. Freeway was a little quicker, but everyone was trying to go 85 in a traffic jam.:headbang:
The back way wasn't very scenic, but at least I had those roads almost to myself.

That looks like a few of ours. Once I took the casing off and vacuumed everything inside and it continue to work for a while. Notice I said once. Haven't done it too recently.

You killed it, but at least you have the hide.
Heat is probably the numbah uno enemy of computers.
You're due for a new one anyway, right?
One thing I do to speed up an older computer is to add some extra memory (if it'll take it), and put in an SSD.
Also, shut down any unneeded startup programs or anything running in the background just for convenience. With an SSD, programs open lickety split. Really helps on older machines, but works on newer ones too.

Years back I had 4 dogs and a cat. I had to vacuum it often. Even my heatsink would get stuff on it.

Most heatsinks have fans attached to either blow through or suck air through the fins to cool things down. When they get clogged with hair and dust, well, they just don't work at removing heat.
You want dogs? When we were breeding Dachsies, we had as many as 22. Became too much, so some got sold, and the rest got rehomed to very nice people. One went to a State Police Dispatcher with a 4 year old who lived in the UP. That one was our "killah", because she'd go out and find mice and moles.
She and that little guy ended up being absolute best buds. Prolly still are.
Anyway, we still have a nice hair production thing goin' on with the 2 labs, but no more desktop computers.
Sweeping the floor is one of our favorite things nowadays...........:picard:

Yep, the IT guy already replaced it and got a new one hooked up... That Emachine must have been a tough cookie, cause it ran non-stop (unless power outage) for that duration. Cause we dont have a monitor hooked, its sole job is to serve the zebra printer...

Throw in a snowstorm at commute time and it is a real crowd pleaser.

As promised, here is the video of me, mowing the lawn and some other stuff. Please, watch the video, as it shows about my personal situation here.

The phone stopped records after 40 minutes. But, it got most of it :)
