Hi my stihl ms 441 c-m keeps giving me headaches. When I start the saw from cold it runs fine. But when you really start using it. It bogs it doesn't sound like a normal bog either. When you hit the trigger it like hesitates to go full rpm. there's no dip in the rpm like a normal bog. I hope I make sense. And after you really start using it it takes a few seconds to idle down then it idles really ruff then shuts off 9 times out of 10. I have it under warranty but the dealer ships can't figure it out I told them to replace the fuel solenoid and they did it helped very little. They said nothing seems wrong, then they said we let it idle for 20 minutes out back and it didn't shut off. Any ideas what could be wrong?

I would simply demand a new replacement saw. Elevate your complaint above your dealer if necessary.

If it is under warranty and the dealer cannot fix it......I think you have a better than average chance. You might have ever to raise a little h€ll. I would be.

Yes you do, if the dealer cannot help, you need to escalate this beyond them if need be.

If they (the dealer) can't fix it, then by rights you should contact Stihl. If they are stuck on a technical issue with the saw, they have access to factory techs who can help them resolve the problem.

I noticed mine bogged down a couple weeks back but that was when I had a mishap and cut my leg. I remember saying why is this thing hesitating for.

Mine is still pretty new yet I don't think I have ten tanks of fuel through it yet so it could be still learning itself or breaking in. I haven't ran it since I had my accident. I do know it idled fine. I don't use the 441 as much as my other saws

My saw has about 25 or more tanks through it.

There are only a few things that can go wrong with the M/T system. The coil, the wiring, and the fuel solenoid.

Now.......that said, too many people forget that they are still dealing with a chainsaw. Maybe it needs a carb rebuild, a fuel line.......perhaps it has developed a air leak? Has the dealer vac/pressure tested the lines (both fuel and impulse), and the saw? Has he checked out the carb for a bad diaphragm? Has it ingested water?

A good dealer would do a few tests and have it fixed in a few hours at most. No real black magic here.

Perhaps you might find a new dealer then. Sorry for your bad luck

Keep after it. A buddy had one of the first MS362s that had an air filter problem. He kept complaining all the way to corporate, going through 2 dealers who verified they couldn't fix the problem. He got a new saw.

Randy is right. Sometimes we get so fixated on all the whiz-bang technological blunders on new saws (and you all know I love new tech) that we forget it's still just a saw. You can work on them like any other, albeit a few of the parts are a bit more expensive now....

I agree I would try a different dealer. One spot I seem to always have problems with these 441 regular or mtronic is the tank fuel line. It likes to rip right where it goes into the tank. They run a 2 piece fuel line with an elbow. Always kicking my butt. Lol.

Don't settle for a poor operating saw, demand it gets fixed to your satisfaction or you get a new one, period.
