Thanks WVhunter! Appreciated. I worked my arse off today trimming up more trees and taking a few more less desirables out. Leaving all the biggest, strongest, healthiest trees. I've gotten pretty good at using the grapple as a rake to move across the ground about 2-3 inches up and rake everything into a good size pile. Then I have figured out if I pick them up and crunch them a few times, and even let them go on top of others and then pick up again I can get them compressed good and get a serious load!

    Lookin good Gas!
That's a pretty ingenious design on that grapple, using the bucket tilt to open close the grapple. "Store bought"?
That solves not having the extra valve problem for sure.

Sorry Fuelrod. Just revisited this and saw your post. Don't know why I did not see it before.

I had my neighbor, who is a machinist and now retired welding/machining teacher build this grapple for me. I told him what I wanted for grapple without adding more hydraulics/controls and he came up with the solution.

Gasifier how many HP does your tractor have? We have a lot of clearing for fence lines in our future and I am contemplating a grapple. My father in law is bringing his 38hp Mahindra to keep on our property to help out the multi year project. Looks great by the way!

Just pick up the grapple with quick attach plate, pull a few pins, then install them into current tractor hydraulic arms and your off!

Thanks. It is for sale here. 2003 Kubota L35 Tractor Loader Backhoe WITH Q.A. Bucket, Hoe, Forks & Grapple!

One of the requirements I wanted when getting the grapple built was for it to have a really wide opening. Because I would be using it for moving a lot of brush, I wanted to be able to latch onto a big pile of brush and haul it away without getting off the tractor. You can use it as a rake of sorts with the bottom tines raking across the ground and round up branches and brush and then close down on them as you get a good pile going. Then repeat until you have a full load!
