A new truck needs a good first load of horse manure. After that you will be able to use it like a truck. Just sayin'.

First day you should go get it loaded up with Item 4 and buy yourself a new shovel to unload it with. That should fix all those worries about scratches.

    'Tis true.

I hope this doesn't come across as cruel, but in areas where the oil industry is traditionally strong, there are folks letting go of very nice trucks because of the loss of business.

People come here to buy cigarettes because they are cheaper than what they are in NYC. They will go from gas station to gas station buying the max legal limit. Then they take them back to NYC and sell them for $10 a pack and NY does not get any tax money. There was a big bust here on several gas stations and stores that were selling more than they should. They said that most of the people doing this are sending the money to terrorist.

Six indicted in federal cigarette smuggling case

It's the dreaded 6.0L. Aka: "sick leaker" or the "fix liter" etc.....

If you are serious about that one, take somebody who knows that engine and its problems inside and out. It could cost you a fortune.

I wouldn't get a diesel, it's just something I was looking at. I'm getting an idea of something like it

I don't think I could go back to a gas engine. The 6.0 wouldntbe my first choice but the 06-07 were better than the earlier ones. For his budget that would be a nice truck to get and just start saving for head studs and that stuff. It will run $5-6k for all of that.

The 6.blow? I would skip it. For his budget this is not the right truck. They can be made durable, I know... Even the 6.4 isn't ideal. These get mid-teens fuel economy on a good day. But they are generally more reliable than the 6.0's. Basically the 6.0 and 6.4 are powerhouse engines on a budget.

To the OP: I think the only diesel that might make sense for you is the new 3.0L diesel Rams. Great fuel economy that actually helps pay back on the investment. They are quite new however so I'm not sure how much lower the lightly used prices are yet.

I've mostly given up on gas engine pickups due to their drinking habits. The Ford 2.7 EcoBoost or similar would be my only candidate.

If you want to haul wood, get a trailer. You can haul more and not beat up the vehicle.

350 that is going to cost $$$$ to run, also miles are high esp if you plan to put a lot of miles on it. Good price, but again, if you are going to put a lot of miles on it, I would go for lower miles and reassess why a 350?

The 350 is a diesel. That particular one gets bad mpg but some diesel f350 get as good mileage empty as a 150 load them with a trailer and they do better

I won't be putting a lot miles on it. The 350 was just an example . It's going to be a 1/2 ton 4x4
