Still coldish and windy here, stove hasn't went cold in the last 24 hrs...looks like it won't in the next 24 either. Checked the chimney tonight as we were leaving for dinner, SMOKE! ARGH! Dang Oak...guess it weren't as dry as I thought. Must not have been too bad though, down to coals when we got back from dinner and the babysitter said it burned nice most of the evening, and it's 75* in da howse Not bad from 1 chunk of Oak and a bunch of bark, ehh?
Yup, Fired o'le Grandma up last night, It was raw and wet, Funny, I posted it over on the pellet forum with those "great" folks! … Had a lot of fun! Threw in a nice big hunk of cherry for the first fire smell! Burned all night.

Grandma has been there 30 years. I did re-do the baby for up stairs, I didn't install it yet. If you remember I was going through some crap with the insurance company so I didn't put it back. It will go in again in the spring. In our addition I built, I ran a gas fireplace/stove when we installed the gas line this summer, That will be connected in a week or two. Started the 3rd fire this morning. Heavy rain all night with wind, highs only in the 40's today, ill reload later.
46* out this morning, raining and windy...typing in front of the stove...she's sittin at 600* STT right now Edit: I just looked at the weather station again...It' down 2 more degrees since 7am, oh, and the stove is cruising at 700* now, fan's on high and crankin some heat out! Good day to catch up on some inside chores...

Wow, that has to be a stove issue. My stove is way less work than any wood stove I've had and far less than my other pellet stove. Fill is once a day at most, cleaning is once a week for about 10 min. and once a ton to the vent system. about 30 min. I can burn a ton of pellets before I have to empty the ash pan. That is just lift out and dump. My vacuum does most the work. All that being said, I would use a wood stove again if I had the right conditions for it. Loved my wood stove. I could cook on it, and it was a real heat producer. This Harman is more like it than my Napoleon pellets stove was. The Napoleon doesn't come anywhere near what this Harman can do for heat production. I was always fussing with the Napoleon. Not an issue with the Harman.
