:DNo tape on those joints but some of that glare off the exposed threads looks like it, doesn't it!

It's stained concrete. When I put the stove in, I pulled about 10' of carpeting with the expectation of staining the exposed concrete, easy peasy right? But no, I found that when the house was built, the painters apparently knew carpet was going down so they didn't cover anything when they textured and sprayed the paint :headbang:. So I had to scrape texture and strip the paint before I could stain it. It added a lot of unexpected work to the basement remodel but that's the look I wanted and I was too stubborn to change my mind:loco:

Nice! My mom was born in May of '51 and lived there til she was 7-8... I think she still remembers some of the folks who grew up around her... It'd be neat to know if she knew any of the families your wife may have known.... Of course, I don't know how old yer wife is....

If'n you don't mind, I'll ask my mom about the Greenville area, if she had any doings there....
I like this sort of stuff... Our histories are often times swept away by the busy-ness of present day things!

I wanted to build a mobile rack that I could roll to the door and roll back into place, your rack is the ticket, I have the lumber and casters just need the piping. Is that something I can get at HD?

    Yeah, HD carries all that.
