Chainsaw Huge Vintage Mcculloch 795, 103CC

This legendary muscle saw sold from February 1966 to September 1969 plus a very rarely found LH starter version sold from October 1969 to June 1971.

All the 790/795's have the same 103cc engine as the 890/895 gear drives which were made from January 1964 to December 1971.

VERY RARE & only sold 1973-75,its the little brother to the Super Pro 125. 106.5cc/6.5 cubic inch. Most everything with the exception of the piston/cylinder is interchangeable with the 125.

Story is that Bob McCulloch came up with this as a ''consumer firewood saw'',seriously. Talk about OVERKILL!!!  :dex:
But a few timber cutters started using it as a smaller alternative to the 125 in medium-large timber. Not many were sold however.

These are neat old saws, fallers in the area where i live ran macs almost exclusively in the 60s and 70s. Im certain that somewhere in my town there are some barn finds to be found. Cant beat the growl of an old mac 125.

Nice saw Thistle. So you received it yesterday? Let us know when you get a chance to cut some wood with it and what you find. Congrats! How many Macs do you own? How many saws?

Its not scheduled to arrive until next Friday 10/23. I have 24 Macs now,37 saws total counting a few ''parts donors'' & the Husky pole saw.

Not done yet......Once I get some of this winter's fuel burned & my milling/woodworking log stash rearranged & moved around some - I'll be building another small shed next Spring to put the miscellaneous stuff like lawn/ garden tools/other junk that's currently clogging up my original shed. The existing shed will be for saws, bars etc only from now on.

Pic is the 2 shelves along south wall of garage/shop,that's underneath the old house with walkout basement. Will build a couple more of these shelves from junk/salvaged Douglas Fir 2 x 12's from either Craigslist or jobsite dumpster....

I'm guessing that one came from leeha. You wanna see an awesome saw collection? He does a great G2G every year. I wanted to go this year but work got in the way.

Yup it did. Told me he's got over 500 saws. o_O :jaw:  Has several Homie 750's but not ready to sell any right now yet.But would let me know & if there's anything I'm looking for let him know he might be able to help me.Also gave me his phone number in case I wanted to chat about saws & stuff anytime.

Nice to have an east contact now to go with the couple on the west coast.

Lee is a stand up guy for sure. I've met him a couple times. We ran my 1050 and his 2100 through a big log together at Spike60's G2G last year. We also ran my 441 and a Dolmar 9010 (stock except for a MM) in that same log. That was a hoot!
