After the first year i noticed my baffle boards on the nc30 starting to curl upward. Toward the end of the season i flipped the boards they are perfectly straight again... I run the 30 very hard 24/7. Going into season 2.5 for her. I do have a back up set of boards but im running the stock ones for as long as possible and since they went back straight they havent curled yet. During the -20 snaps we get i will push this thing to 800+ when im home. Thing just laughs and keeps cruising cant say enough good about a stove at this price and offers such a good burn time for what it is.

I found that when I put rods on the outside of the boards to fill the gap, the boards raise in the middle as the stove gets hot.
I may just leave the rods out this season.

Since it raises up in the middle, it kinda makes me think that the reason the gap is there to begin with is to allow for expansion when the boards get hot.
There may not be a gap when the stove is up to temp and if that's the case, I think I'd want those gaps there on startup for better draft.

I had one in the middle that still allowed some wiggle.......never a problem.
    It's 1/4" OD.
