Friday I took the girlfriend to work.(had her vehicles tore apart for u joint replacement.) Drove right past the city brush site and had to stop. Only had 30 minutes before I had to be at work so I grabbed a few cottonwood rounds. (stacked in pic.) Went back to pick her up after I got off. Noodled and whacked some honey locust rounds apart to load. (small suv.) same thing Saturday except I was off work. Actually on call but..... Grabbed honey locust taking the girl to work. and more HL picking her up.
Sunday I had her vehicle all put together again. So I figured towing the trailer would be an effective strain test on the new parts. Just so happened to run across some discarded pallets.
I am about to unload those. People around here steal anything and everything... I had a chunk of concrete and old rail road tie behind the trailer that vanished a month ago. In the summer my buddies offroad truck blew the tranny and was sitting on the trailer when some (insert word/s) thought a nice smiley face beatin into the tailgate with a tire iron or..? Would be a nice addition.
Man it sucks when people can't be trusted.. Bad parenting is usually where it starts and builds up from there. These parents are usually left wondering and always say not my child..
I was a handful when I was younger. Still am @28 but a lot of the youngsters nowadays just don't give a flying flip. On the other side. Back in the summer I had a clients son 17 or so come out with a case of cold water and fresh fast food burgers for everyone... He even told us thanks before I realized his gesture.
Just caught a scrapper about to steal the pallets right off the trailer!!! Moved them out of sight till I figure out what to do with them.
Hmmm I heard Pete was headed to Texas.. Think I know where he is now Surprised they haven't taken your cool Champion spark plug sign! Ray
Great! He can help me turn them into works of art. My grandfather retired from Philips 66. Had a huge double sided sign I really wanted but was sold for 25 or 50 cents!!!!
They might be interested in the old air compressor. . Anyways I'm off to company Christmas lunch. I'll split everything later and post more pics.
Honey locust splits..... Small pile to the upper left is cotton. Stuff on the way right if visible would be cherry shorties. apologies for the bad pic. slapped together a quick rack. Lag bolted the braces from a broken D. Fir support beam in the garage. Toe nailed (screwed) the upright to the horizontal pallet. Stacked away before my non gloved hands got really cold.
More work over the past week. I'm starting to get a wee bit more serious preparing for a stove. To the pics we go!
