Looking at another south american handgun because they actually make guns with ambidextrous controls. Anyone have experience with this company?
I had an older Bersa .380 ACP for a while, but sold it and bought a Ruger LCP with a Crimson Trace laser. Nothing wrong with the Bersa...just wanted the Ruger
Can you point me towards a fully ambi M&P? I am looking for something like the Ruger LC9 but with slide lock on both side. Slide lock on the wrong side is a real pain.
The Smith M&P's offer some calibers with ambidex controls. I'll see if I can find a model number for you. My M&P 22 has ambidextrous slide lock and safety...the mag release can be changed from right to left
Yes. The compact doesn't look too bad, ideally I will find a single stack but I don't think thAts going to happen.
Finding a single stack 9mm with ambi controls might be a bit harder to find. The double stack really isn't too hard to conceal either
I would say this is weird but I am a lefty and right eye dominate. I can shoot with either hand, but my instinct is left
I'm the same way, but after forcing myself to use my right hand for 10 years my instincts for rifle and handguns are now right-handed. I found I even throw balls, swing a bat and racket and occasionally a hammer right handed now too. I still can't shoot a shotgun worth a darn right handed.
Just got back from Gary's gun shop and handled the Walther CCP and Glock 43 and was please with both, but the CCP is head and shoulders better for my situation. Best feature-- light slide that I can easily manage from the wrong side.
I like Bersa pistols. I would never carry a Bersa as a CCP. The ambi-safety is based on a firing pin block and unreliable. The G-43 is a Glock, 'nuff said. No experience with the Walther CCP, but the ergonomics look very similar to my P-22. Best pistol for my hand, ever! Pick what fits your hand, you'll enjoy shooting that much more.
