I suspect that if you got your leg amputated for a bad knee, your FHC screen name would become "Ilene."
A friend lost his foot in an accident and while he was recovering, he said he was going to apply for a job at IHOP.
Not at all. It was only a 'semi-serious' question I think I'll try to hang onto it. See what tomorrow brings. I'm supposed to make an appointment with the surgeon at the clinic, which frightens me. And I need to talk to my attorney.
Ugh..... Sorry to see that Jeff. Have you got a burner in the new house yet? Let me know if you need some heavy lifting help....
Unfortunately no. It'll be a cold winter in my house. Expect to be hanging out in front of the pellet stove next door Thanks for the offer.
Well I guess we will need to have you all over for some fire action and grilling..... Thought about you Saturday as I stopped by an estate sale with a bunch of cast iron, but the pieces weren't that good and the prices were high.
Finally got to see a real doctor today. He said I didn't need any surgery, numbed me up and cranked my finger around where it should be, and put a cast on it. He said he could pin it and it would end up a bit more straight, but it would likely remain stuff and never loosen up. And it would take a couple more months. This way I at least have a good chance of making a fist again, and the cast will be off in 4-6 weeks. The clinic had me scheduled for surgery last Tuesday. So glad I stood my ground and got to seek my own medical care.
I was starting to wonder if I messed up, since it took so long to get this appointment. I do my very best to avoid the national network of 'medical centers' that we are forced to use. If I could have made it through my route I would have lied my @ss off and told them I smashed it cutting firewood. Sad that money is more important than medical care.
any follow up on how the recovery is going? Good that you didn't need surgery. Will tell you that you can anticipate arthritis.
Cast came off two weeks ago. I have a follow up on Friday. If I had a normal job I'd be back to work, but I need some good grip strength in my right hand. Hopefully I'll be released, but my hand is still pretty stiff. Arthritis is a good possibility in my family, even without an injury.
