Oh and lemme tell you that 20 inch bucked sections of black locust are friggen heavy. I can go to 22 for the Ideal Steel Hybrid but I don't need a hernia.
That one is still there. That probably couldn't be lifted by one person alone. It's gotta be 20 to 22 across.
This is one of the best posts I've read in a while. Great to hear how you guys have teamed up to tackle all of that wood. Hoarders everywhere are drooling over all of those great pictures. Great job, guys!
Finally did some splitting. The rack is 16 feet long and with 16 inch splits it holds 2/3 of a cord. I cut to 20 if possible but there are a few 18s in there. Did the math and that rack is .94 of a cord. It's packed pretty high. Usually only stack them 4 foot high but it's almost 5 foot. Might take some off. Oh it's the rack on the left.
All that big locust is gone over there, I was able to get some cherry and locust on Thursday. I may go for 1 or 2 more trips. Nice stacks by the way
I have a few of those 5-6' stacks, trouble is they always shrink on one side only and then look like the Leaning Tower Of Pisa. I like to blame it on the drying, but I'm sure my 'speed stacking' doesn't help matters!
