A nice cool and busy day here. I fired the oven with white cedar and sugar maple. I made up a pan of manicotti with ground sausage and cheese. I raked the coals out for a bit to soak the heat into the floor. Manicotti out. Apple crisp is in the back of the oven cooking. Piping hot apple crisp 45 minutes later. A little bit of vanilla ice cream on it. We sat out back and had a nice fire going while we ate it.
I've thought of it, but then I wouldn't get to drool all over myself, so what fun would that be? Awesome Jon.
Im yet again speechless. Two of my favorite dishes, made old country style, 200 miles away. You never let us down with your creations fishingpol. =
The best time of the year for outdoor cooking is almost here. Chicken pot pies, bread, stews, cast iron skillet bakes... I am looking forward to it.
