Perfect day this morning to duck hunt, dreary and raining. Hunted in a tshirt all morning. Had four guys and shot our limit of mallards in 20 minutes. It was one of those perfect hunts you dream about. Had to pack up and head out so more birds could land in the flooded corn field.

It was awesome! We could have easily killed a few more limits there was so many birds. But that's what limits are for, to leave some birds for another day. We're heading back out in the morning for another round.

Nice! I had a couple small flights of geese go over today. My neighbor to the north finally cut his corn just before the thaw. Itching to take the goose decoys out there and go after some!

Went out again today, Did good but not quite what we did yesterday. It was a lot more clear today and the birds could see better so I think they picked us out better.

20 geese, thats awesome. I wish we could shoot that many here. Only allowed 4 per person, should be a lot more as we are crawling with the things.

Sweet! Congrats on the hunt. One of these days I am going to make it duck hunting again. I used to go to Maryland and duck hunt but haven't been for probably 12 years since there is nowhere to go around here.

Weve got really good duck and goose hunting locally. This year has been on and off though with the weather changes.

Just got home after driving by my old hunting grounds along the upper/lower Niagara river visiting for the holidays: Grand Island, Sunken Island, Strawberry Island. There were a lot of ducks in the river and it was relatively calm days. The river really gets loaded up thick with ducks when it gets rough out on Lakes Erie and Ontario. Brought back a lot of great memories of hot gun barrels on bitter cold windy days back in WNY. The only barrels I've ever gotten "hot" in Ohio were when target shooting or scoping up a gun. :(

We had a young kid with us this morning, his first time out duck and goose hunting. He fell in love with it and shot 3 geese and two ducks of his own.
