Yes, it's likely the others will follow suit before long and even they don't, I'm glad to see at least one store pricing in a range that competes with HHO, even if I don't buy from them...Anyway, in the meantime, the others will price match...

HD up here will only price match if it's the same brand of pellets, which doesn't make sense because all pellets are the same.

As I had posted a while back, HD and Lowes showed the're cards very early this year with not only a 20.00 increase, but to do this late August/early September thereby giving many pellet buyers incentive [And Time] to look elsewhere or,,,,, use that price for BBS ashy stuff as a barometer and decide that paying maybe 30-40 dollars more a ton for much better quality wasn't really a far fetched thing to do.. not talking 100's of dollars more for good stuff... last year the pellets came late in the year and shortages we on everyones mind so 22 pallet truck;loads would be sold out same day they came in in no matter what Brands they sold....lot different thinking going on this year but for those who wait till winter is already upon them, they will flock to the BBS's and buy whatever is there...[I am excluding Blazers/Presto logs that may or may not show up at HD as they did last winter which are deff quality pellets..

Couldn't count them all but Lots of Green Teams and North Americans at Lowes Poughkeepsie. Also saw some Geneva wood products and Cheat River.

That's what I paid (contractor's price of $5.18 - actually it seems to me it was $5.14) for Pres-to's at Lowes a couple of weeks back. Wonder if the BBS around here will go lower.

I've never burned the IG, but if it were me, I'd say the Chow & FSU are 1st and about even, then the MC, and then the GS

Poughkeepsie HD had a lot of Nations Choice and more than a few tons of Stove Chow. Little confused on the price, $269 written on the tonnage in front of store and $259 displayed inside. I would estimate a couple hundred tons. I don't remember seeing that many pellets there before.

HD here outside Philly has Tons of Stove chows/Nations pride and some other High Ash brand.
1st time I have ever seen more than 1 brand at HD.. Can you say, " possible backup due to slower sales"?
they started here in Late August with Chows..

Don't you have a Harman? I thought those were meant for high ash pellets. Stove Chow should be just fine for you.

Yes.. P61A and yes it will handle high ash buildup but different circumstances this year...
came out of retirement [early Boomer retiree]:dex: and delivering auto parts about 34 hrs/week...I was very OCD with my stove pulling ash piles into the burnpot many times during the day as I had plenty time on my hands.
This while burning as you said, ashy pellets like Stove chows etc... Although my flame never went out in the Morning when we got up from burning all night, I did notice the flame at times being snuffed a bit for 'lack of a better word' and this I blame on certain Hardwood pellets with heavier than normal ash not being pushed out of the Burnpot that well..The nice strong flame was a bit absent.
now that I am gone during the day, I feel better burning better stuff than HD provides.... Lignetics green bag, Lacretes, and Blazers from last year[which actually got at HD]...it;s that OCD thing leftover.
plan on getting all Douglas Firs next season or switching to All Softwoods To keep the ash low while I'm gone....Xtra Job now pays for better fuel...

Nations Choice not Nations Pride which I think are Dog treats or something..
    . my mistake..
