Looks younger, not over 1 year. Could be a liver GSH, or a skinny heeler, (do heelers come in liver color?) I'm going to ask WWW if he will dig a hole for her. Too late for her but, she deserves a final resting place.
That is so sad, so reckless. I hope the poor thing is laid to rest. I would just love to put my foot on the offender right where the sun don't sun.
Shed is gone Fence behind it and the bushes to the left/center will be gone too. The bushes in the background were thriving on a dysfunctional leach line, I hope to cut them back, and things grow VERY slow here.... Stinny
I almost have it in me to call some authorites to report animal abuse. Sad thing is we get frequent collection notices for medical/dental/IRS/credit card letters for them. The letters so far are from atleast 5 different states so far. Not sure it would accomplish anything. Maybe I should.
I doubt the bushes will get trimmed this winter, but I have HIGH hopes with the sheds gone that giant snow drifts will be much smaller. Cross your fingers for me! The dogs have been in the small "winter snow drift" enclosure for the excavator, Blondie is NOT happy about that. How cool would it be to have a large yard year round!?! Also, the russian olive tree (neighbors property) appears to have been feeding on the bad leach line too. I have mixed feelings about losing some of the rare foliage we have here, but........
Fancy Dancy leach lines. Yep, backhoes and excavators are da bomba. Used to be a show about Detroit dog catchers or something, and the situations they uncovered were horrifying. Some people have no heart or soul. I'm brown with envy over your new system. Get it? When do you expect to be able to "use" the new system?
The excavator said we have 1000 gallons to use before it enters the leach lines, until it's officially working by Wednesday, so it's already been "used", no more trips out to the RV loo Also, since we have to haul water in here, DH knows how much we have used. I have seen the tv shows too about animals being treated atrociously, never did I think I would experience it in real life. PS, I returned the tankless water heater. I did not want to pay the electrician/plumber/contractor to get it installed, and that $350 is going to the septic excavator now
I'm glad for you that you got that done and done right. Yep, it'll take a couple minutes to fill up. After this big expense, I'd return the TWH too.
I feel slightly better, found out more of the story. The dog was older, the renter (dog owner) I heard had mental issues. When faced with moving & divorce, he put 3 dogs down by himself (ammuntion), he could not find a new place that allowed dogs. I pray it was a good shot and immediate. This is not ok by me, but I am glad the dog was not starved or froze to death. Apparently there may two more dogs out here.....
such a sad sad situation. Around here, it is easy to put a dog in a pound. Most all get adopted. Only the very sick or vicious dogs get put down. Even senior dogs get adopted.
I agree. I Worked at a pound for 4 years. Aggressive and sick ones were euthanized too, but also other animals as funding and space was always an issue. "no kill shelters" were not around yet......but still, every one of them had a peaceful passing from a kind hand. PS, one of improvement suggestions I submitted was to remove the euthanasia room from the crematory. For animals well being. It happened. More Peaceful passings since 1989, and it has been a no kill shelter since some time in the early 90's.
WW, I've had to do it.. it sucks. ... 8 years ago my dog got hit.. by truck in driveway.. Obviously broken back hip.. 140 lb mix called every vet in phone book. none would come to house... could not let him suffer.... Did not seem fair to throw him in back of truck to drive him over back roads for 30 miles.... I was a miserable SOB for 10 days.. After that went found vet that will do emergency house calls..
Today he is finishing the leach lines. Tomorrow is inspection. Wednesday it gets filled in. PS, the old shed and fence is the pile of rubble behind the tractor. For this winter.
