Our power went off at 6:30 this morning. I got a call from zap and he's been out since around 3:30 or so. So we agreed if either of us went onto the forum we'd let folks know about the other not yet having power. He said they have about an inch of ice so I'm betting it will be quite some time before he is back on line.

It was funny that I figured I' d just wait a few hours and if we didn't get power back then I'd hook up the generator. I had just hooked up the water pump and was about to run a line to the refrigerator when suddenly we got power back. If only I'd waited another 10 minutes or so.... But still happy to get power restored.

Dennis I managed to slide to the gas station ( literally ) and talked to an asplundie tree lineman and was surprised! He said that there reports are over 100,000 in lower Michigan so his company sent 40 trucks from Toledo not counting the other cities and Indiana. He was woke up at 4:30 am and drove straight through to get here. I thanked him and bought him coffee lol. They guy looked like he had already been through hell and back today. Anyway we have almost the whole town without power and the estimate is 3 days maybe more... We are lucky we haven't lost it yet everybody around us has. Glad your back online Dennis.

Glad you guys kept it up there. I heard all that on the radio this morning, and there were places in NY that had 2" of ice.

I was in Findlay and Lima working in the rain yesterday, and there is gonna be some major flooding in Findlay in the next day or two. Sounds like we are in between the nasties here.

    Hope everbody stays safe.

Good to know you still have power Pete. It has to be worse south of us because we missed most of it yesterday but Southern MI got hammered as well as the states further south. Enjoy the power but keep extra water on hand just in case you need it later on. Same goes for gas for the generator.

Jeff, did you have rain rather than ice yesterday?

After I talked with you Dennis, I decided to check on our neighbor, after talking for about 30 minutes with them the power came on.

We have lots of branches down (not sure about the trees deeper in the woods) we also lost some branches off a maple tree in the backyard, one came down when we were having coffee looking out the back windows.

The power crews have done a great job.

Of course the guy with the newer generator still has power. It's like when I got my new telescope and it was cloudy for ten days straight.

Hooray! We both now have power. Now stay indoors until the ice drops. You don't want limbs falling on your head. I know what your woods is like and for sure I'd stay out of it for now.

Thanks Pete, we had planned on cooking on the grill if we didn't have power tonight, not sure what we'll have since we have power.

The wife just said the plans are the same.

Wow. You folks sound like you got it worse than we did. ? Our power guys have been out in numbers here. But I think we got lucky with colder temperature wise. Kept us from getting so much ice. Hopefully will stay that way the rest of the day.

I think so. I was out of town, but I'm pretty sure it was above freezing all day here.

It was 57 when I got in my truck this morning in Ohio. When I got out in Plymouth, it was 33

Right where I want to be.
Glad you guys got your power back.
I think it's too cold up here, so we're getting snow. Watched the storm track last night and this morning, and saw all the icy crap way south of us.
Sis-in-law called this morning from Lansing and said they lost power and had branches down.
Told her she should have moved up here like she planned, then any wood that comes down would be firewood.
    She wasn't amused.
