Today was a funny one, I ordered an item for our new family member. It was supposed to get here today, it was coming Fedex, so this morning when it was marked on the truck for delivery I figured it would get here a bit before noon time. Sure enough a bit before 11:30 the Fedex van was in the yard and it looked like they were going up around to drop it at the front door. I walked out to the kitchen door and slipped my shoes on to get the 34 lb package. Went through the door, no van, went down the upper drive way no van, the driver had driven into the yard , turned around , and then left. I head back into the house, go down the stairs to my den, look up the tracking information, the phone rings, it is Fedex out of Manchester NH, the driver couldn't find the house ????? !!!!!! huh he just turned around in the yard. Four hours or so later it got delivered. At least it made it and once again I'm left wondering where the shipping companies get their folks from. KC has been having fun playing with her new cat furniture. It is going in front of one of the windows in the den and hopefully she will use the two scratching posts on it instead of other places.

Suggestion, sprinkle cat nip on the cat furniture. Rub it into the scratching post. I have six cats and that works well for me. None of my furniture is shredded.
By the way, If you want a good litter box that is so easy to take care of, take a look at this:

Omega Paw Roll 'n Clean Litter Boxes - Kitty Litter Box and Covered Cat Litter Box from petco.com

I have three of them and will say they are the best yet, so long as you use a real quality clumping litter. Arm and Hammer "clump and seal" works best. No scooping, no sifting. Just roll, tap, roll back and dump the drawer.
Our FedEx man is very familiar with this place. He knows my dogs by name and brings them milk bones!

I always clipped my cats nails. They scratched for fun once in a while, but never touched our furnishings. Train them when they are little.

KC has her nails clipped, hopefully this is further insurance, even clipped nails can do in furniture over time.

ETA: KC is 16 months old, she was surrendered by a shelter in Tennessee that didn't have the set-up for a pregnant cat soon to have kittens. So training when the kitty is little was out of the question. She was fostered out and the foster home did an excellent job of caring for her and as a result she KC raised 4 easy going and affectionate kittens. She is very well socialized unlike a few of us on here :p.

We haven't tried our young cat on catnip, not all cats are affected by it. As for the litter box we have been using a covered one for ages. I just pick it up by its handle and carry it outdoors and dump it down over one of the banks, then it gets hosed down, etc .. The normal Fedex guy who has delivered more than the normal amount of brewing supplies to this place asks me how the caning season is going. It seems I've gotten fill ins this summer. I expect during the winter to have them refuse to enter the driveways, but holy crap this one turned around in our yard. I guess I'll have to put a huge block letter sign with the address on it on the house itself or a delivery truck trap in the driveway.

You can't train this bear I have a goal in life and that is to forget everything. That means it is useless to try to train me.

Really? They called from Manchester. Because there are no more local depots in ME (or at least Eastern NH)?

Not to worry about that goal. As I get older, I am an "over achiever" with forgetting. :BrianK:

I just got off the phone with Fidelity, ain't this pension chasing stuff fun, NOT! Eventually it will get straighten out because I kept those piles of paper. It took the folks at Social Security 5 months before my wife's stuff was correct 1 month before she gets her first deposit, it took less than a month for mine. I can't figure it out, some stuff just doesn't make any sense at all. It is a good thing someone doesn't work for me, this is simply bull. MMC at least has a benefit calculation and option election package headed this way. Any bets on weather it is correct?

ETA: Bear is having one of those days. Everyone-else clean those stoves.
