Last week, iI noticed a very slight sign of coolant leak on my clutch cover of my motorcycle. It appeared to only be able to be coming from the t stat housing, which is between the 90° v of the cylinders.

So, I went over all the hoses clamps and associated small bolts to connect the coolant lines. A few clamps were a little loose. Hopefully that was it.

I topped off my coolant reservoir, and gave the bike a quick clean and top off of gas.

I need to go through the cooling system in the off season anyway. It more than likely needs an impeller in the pump, and a few other things I want to upgrade as well. IMG_20150920_171514041.jpg

I ran it around a little in the culdesac and let it idle a while with no sign of leaks.

Is that an SV650? I had one for about 6 years and loved it.

Didn't pay attention and was looking at the front end. I have ridden my friends 1000cc SV and it was definitely a blast. Bye the way, nice bike!

    Thanks!

It's a 97 tl1000s, with the original "widowmaker" ECU, full yosh pipes, Corbin seat, airbox mods, 6 piston front brakes, driven riser bars, and a bunch of other mods to it that I've done.

It does share the same tail light as the first gen sv 650 though. ;)

If I'm not mistaken, the later SV1000s had a slightly de tuned version of the 996cc twin. I loved and miss my SV1K.

Yeah, even the 98 tls was detuned a little from the original widowmaker 97. The sv1k was a little less, due to smaller intake and exhaust valves than the tl s and tlr.

uploadfromtaptalk1442796326920.jpg wood cut and loaded on my 4x8 trailer.

Hauling it back the 75 miles to the house. Did not go just to get the wood. We were already planning to visit the inlaws. I just took the trailer and a few saws. Glad I did turned out to be a good load! Cleaned their and the neighbors yard up in the process!

That is why I carry 150 foot of steel cable. For when you miss the lean and the tree sets back on your saw. I just pull them over. Would not be the first one and it will not be the last. Too bad about your bar, that sucks.

I do not know if you could have put a wedge in there without the saw cutting into it.

Come in from the sides if ya have to, even on trees that lean towards the face cut ............... if I am cutting them, there is a wedge in there. You never know when a gust of wind is going to change the tree dynamics on you.

I learned the hard way to keep a few plastic 5.5" wedges in my tree bag.:(

These 2 puny maples were the culprits - maybe 8" and 12" DBH, with the roots very much intertwined they were a force to be reckoned with.
