heading home after some stitches from the ER Chainsaw bit me today Like a idiot I got tunnel vision and like a idiot I don't have chaps Was watching the tree to see what it was doing became fixated on it and stuck the saw in to cut just a little more when I pulled the saw out fortunately it was going full throttle I brushed it against my knee 14 stitches and extremely lucky later I told the wife who is a ER nurse I won't be cutting again without chaps period Learn from me guys don't be stupid I thought I was always safe and I did this to myself only took a second
Ouch... that'll be talking to you for the next few days... dammm... sorry that happened Wood... hope it heals up quick. Welcome to the FHC infirmary
It made me wise up and the sad part is I know better too I'm in ems my wife a ER nurse I see this stuff often I was and have been stupid for not having chaps
Don't clank yer head too bad about it... we've all been there. Good of you to post the pic. I might even remember to put em on after seeing that... I hates pain...
Wow! Glad you are ok. I got myself with hedge trimmers. I learned the hard way that You can't be too careful.
Yeah this was a split second injury and I was paying attention but still it happened and could have prevented somewhat if I had chaps or at least not as bad. But thankful it wasn't worse as it very well could have been I was paying attention to part of the picture instead of the whole picture Guys learn from me it isn't worth it buy them and wear them
12 on my right knee from 15 years ago I wasn't cutting! we were cleaning 8 foot high popular from trail I was holding tree guy cutting had chaps then push trees off edge. He went right through tree bounced off my knee. you can still feel grooves where teeth scratched the bone Why family rule is always 2 we were 5 miles back on skid trail! Good rule Chaps are a must!
Ouch. Good thing that was not worse. I still have a difficult time picturing how that really happened though and why was the throttle still at full? Saw should have been idling at that point. Nevertheless, it was an accident that could have been much worse.
It wasn't at full throttle I had a small tree 6 inch in that wasn't cooperating and hung up on another little one and the hinge had just a little still holding it so reached in and lightly cut a little more away I was watching the tree and Brought the saw out of the cut and it is as still going some not sure how many rpm but it was pretty low. Had it been more I wouldn't have a knee or maybe a leg Basically I did this watching the tree and happened to bring the saw across my leg the terrain was uneven Kind of hard to explain but it was a stupid mistake one that should have not been made
