Sorry guys and gals.....I've been swamped to the eyeballs the past month and haven't had much time to post on here......Here's some pictures of our Christmas setup.

As many of you know already, my wife and I spent a TON of time and did a TON of work on our living room and hearth, and last winter (try as I might) I just didn't get the room done in time for Christmas like I had wanted to. Well, we went ALL OUT this year in that room, to say the least! Put up a big 12'x6' train layout for the kids, and we got the biggest tree we've ever had to date.......it's 10 1/2' tall! Mrs. Overkill and the kids are in love with the new room and, to be honest, that was what I was hoping for this Christmas....so I already got my Christmas gift!

We put 900 lights on it, and she put lots of vintage-style decorations up. I think she did a wonderful job on the decorations!

We put three full lighted villages up, as well as three different "O" scale train tracks. We've got TONS of vintage and newer O scale trainsets, I'm as big of a train buff as the kids are!

and some pics of the stockings hung on the chimney with care!!

From our family to all of you wonderful FHC members out there.....may you have a very Blessed Christmas and a healthy, safe and prosperous New Year!!

Wow, that is so nostalgic, I can almost taste eggnog. So much better than all those blinking lights hung outside many homes. If I had a place looking like that, I would just sit with a couple of books. You made that all happen for your family. Enjoy!

Thanks my friend......and trust me, we spend many an evening in there just relaxing, especially the past week or so since we've finally caught up with the rushing around and such......

Before we totally gutted and renovated the house, my wife hated it here. Now, she never wants to leave!!

Good that you had a vision of what you wanted to have it look like, and that she believed in you.

White lights are the way to go. Got lots of retro decorations including popcorn strings, red gems, Cheerios and such. Cheerios almost seem too modern. The topper was exactly what I was looking for but I had to light it myself.

I bet it looks perfect to Pete, at least if he's using his iPad.

Jack if you hold the iPad sideways with the home button to the right and the cam to the left then take the pic it will upload correctly. Assuming you used an iPad.

I do that, it's still hit or miss. Normally I run it through a converter to shrink the image and that fixes the prob.

Also, this was a portrait, not a land scape.

No portrait pics with iPad or phones unless you want them sideways or upside down. All landscape, then use the crop function and you are good to go!
