We rolled out our new Easy Blaze Blend at $20 ton less than our SP. just received third party test results here they are: Ash .4% Mc 6.5% Durability 98.2 Bulk density 43 lbs cu.ft. BTU - as received 8300 btu lb. not going to post OD that's BS and impossible to realize. The main difference between SP and Blend...ash is a bit lower and btu a bit higher. Check out our website for retailers near you we are adding weekly. www.easypelletproducts.com
Steve, Most blends tend to be more hardwood than softwood. Is your's in this group and Wondering roughly what the blend ratio might be? Kind of hoping your blend has a higher softwood content. Density, Looks like it should make some heat too!
When I first got tester bags they were $259 a ton.....then the price went up after that I believe. This was back in February.
Our blend is a nominal 75% SW/ 25% HW- we our considering new dies to produce a 75% HW / 25% SW but waiting on consumer feedback to see if there is enough demand . The HW in my area red/ white oak, hickory and some poplar which is a soft HW. Please let me know what the masses would like to see....
I'm not the masses, But the softwood dominant blend sounds good to me!! To me the hardwood dominant would most likely carry more ash content. Poplar?? Don't see that often included in the species used. I wonder what a 100% poplar pellet would be like and what the ash content might be? Isn't poplar one of the faster growing species of hardwood?
Freetown , Massachusetts to be exact . They range from $ 270 for blends , $ 300 - 320 for SP and $ 355- 375 for Spruce / Fir
too rich for my wallet. that is a third more cost than LP per million BTUs with no work at all. I need to get pellets in the 240 range including delivery just to be at a more reasonable range.
But you are saving heating $$$$$, that is unless you have the AC on! My AC chocked last week. No idea what went wrong with it. Fans cost a lot less to run. Cools down at night so not so bad.
