Welcome to the forum Chris. That is some great firewood but it doesn't look like it is too big for an 18" bar. Remember that the bar does not have to go all the way through the whole log. You can easily cut a 35" diameter tree with that size bar. We've even cut a 33" tree with a 16" bar although we did have to break that little knot in the middle. No problem.
... it all depends upon your appetite ... Good stuff. Mostly nice straight grain too. My white oak is snarly and tough.
Welcome CuckooChris, you're gonna like it here...good peeps-personally, even as the "Ashwatcher", nothing beats the smell of cut red oak and it burns so sweet, just takes a while to be proper to burn...Nice work!
It is a lot of fun. I like splitting the most. Wish I just had an unlimited supply of rounds! I'd split for 2hrs every day!

Good job, CuckooChris. In top view of the 3 split round pic ( and your feet), it looks like ya have the aim down real good on your maul targeting. After years of practice, I'm lucky to get within 1/4" of where it should hit. Fortunately, that's usually close enough. LOL.
