3 days ago I had the central air on, 95 and humid!
This morning I woke up to a room at about 58 degrees after sleeping with the windows open last night.

FREEZING! didn't want to get out of bed. Might have to put the blanket back on tonight. Anyone crank their stove on (I hope not!)

nov 1 is my 'hold out' date. I may run a few hours here or there in late october, but try not to.

Usually I don't burn until late Sept early Oct. Can usually get away with a cooler house on a weekday morning. Weekends, not so much.

With the windows closed the house was 68. About 20 degree's warmer than outside.

Holding out until the boss grabs the :heidi:

Still to0 warm here to light a fire. Night time temps still in the 60's, not anticipated to go below 50 until Sun. The dampness has lifted a lot. But if it is cool and damp inside, the fire will start.

I think Steve's "test fire" means popping the hopper lid on that pellet eater and then blowing some smoke out the vent! ;)

I'll join you in a smoothie though. I get some miller lite white cans to burn off!

Last year I lit the stove for the first time in early October. I think more because I wanted to than needed to. This year I will try to hold out a bit longer, like Papelletman said - would like to get a few weeks of no AC or heat if we can.
