Woo Hoo! last day of work for two weeks. Love working in a school. Pancake breakfast at work and hardly anything to do today.

Bringing a bunch of wood into the cellar right now, before the storm hits. Lots of gas for the generator, and plenty of food in the storage area.

Just got in from cleaning up snow. Snowing like a bitch now and some more coming Sunday. Off to work shortly, then drinking time!

Wearing my new twill pants from Duluth trading and watching A Christmas Carol with the youngest. Picked up the remaining chimney rods I need so I can clean the chimney tomorrow.

Getting ready for the storm. I see the ice amount forecast has been cut in half by the National Weather Service.

Have my flushing water in the bathtub, sanitizing some of my brewing gear so I can have several days supply of drinking water. That way we don't have to worry about fitting the well pump into the electricity ration while on the generator.

Got everything else in the larder. Hope it is for nothing but after having been through a few such storms best be prepared before it starts.

A trip to the recycle drop off at the gas station and three tanks of gas for the generator comes home with us. Should get us through the worst.

We lost power for half the day yesterday with the ice storm. Apparently it isn't over yet they say 2 more days of this mess on the way.

We went through several days of on again off again power during the mess in '98 luckily the temps during a lot of ice storms is right around 32 or so and 4 of the five heating devices back then worked without electricity.

Being on public water also helped.

Not the case here, but just between us folks here, where we are now is much better than where we were.

Just got some gas, whiskey, and smokes. Ready for the ice storm. Going to grab a saw to take for the drive to/from the Xmas party. Never know when a downed tree will be in the way.

In the process of preparing for the coming storm and company I racked my mead into a secondary (and got to sample it as well).

It is going to be quite enjoyable drinking that little brew, the boss says it is really good also.

So after the holidays it will be time to get some more honey and another secondary.
