    A coworker had 4 oaks taken down. She didn't want it so its all mine.

    On arrival I found this:

    Couldn't be much more convenient. Most of it is pretty good. Some branch wood at the end where I took the picture but mostly nice straight pre cut trunk on the driveway.

    Got almost two truckloads out of that. There was also a nice straight trunk in the front yard that the guy didn't have time to buck. So I bucked that and filled up the second truckload image.jpg

    Third load is just stuff that I bucked and a few odds and ends. Didnt fill the truck but I needed a lunch and more importantly hydration break. I had to buck this but that is ok because some of the precut stuff was a little too long for my stove. This is the primo stuff. Ten or twenty yards to the truck and mostly too heavy for me to carry so I split it in half or thirds. I'll drop this off then go back and finish it off. image.jpg

    Last load home and piled in the splitting area. All in all 3 full pickup loads in 4 trips. Pics of stack to follow. I'm curious to see how much it turns out to be split and stacked. I need less than 3 cords a year of pine for all my heat; oak has a lot more BTUs per volume. Maybe not a whole years worth of heat, but probably more than half a years heat anyway. Not a bad day's work.

    Lets see if I got this right--wood was cut to length, piled on the side of the drivway for easy access, no payment for the wood required, but did he help you load the wood on your truck:rofl: :lol::whistle:

    The total haul:
    441/25 inch bar for scale. Goes back a ways into the barn. The photo makes it hard to get a good idea of the depth. Also it sits in a hollow so the ground level you can see is deceptive. image.jpg

    Bert, that may not be a year's supply but it surely is a sweet find. Good for you. Not get it split and stacked and wait a couple years before you burn. 3 years and oak is really great firewood.

    Nice find! Good amount of High BTU wood you snagged there! :yes:

    Really nice looking stacks you have there also. Nice and neat, and dry too. So those stacks are all pine? No hardwoods?
