papadave , we usually start burning September 15 but with the warmer weather we'll see when we start this year.

I just covered about a cord of shoulder season wood tonight.

Been pulling wood from the stacks whenever the rain stops for a couple days.
Now I remember why I prefer to have this done by now.
That's just about when we start too zap. Maybe the 3rd week. I'd like to wait a little longer, but that never seems to happen.

If you have some extra rain, send it because we need it bad.

I've probably got another 2 months:

    Screen Shot 2015-09-08 at 10.41.23 PM.png

At least it is getting less hot at night, but the humidity is still wicked. It is so humid that the dew was sufficient to get our wheat to sprout and put on a few inches of growth before the first rain came after we planted it.

We had a chit load of rain hit in a very short time with some wind, thanks.

I have part of a Cherry tree down in the back gully, pics tomorrow. It's not huge but we'll add it to the inventory.

Hope that didn't cause any flooding.

Not enough rain for that but it helped out big time, our area has been in a big dry spell.

I was telling Sav tonight that most of the rain has stayed north and east of us until today.

Our grass actually looks like grass now, instead of some kind of brown stuff.
The dandy-lions are very healthy too.:D

Had our first fire of the year today. This will be the first day of the season when we won't get up to 60. Our thermometer seems to be stuck right at 56. Was 45 this morning. 40 predicted tonight. Frost advisory just barely to the north of us. Dave might get some of that frost.

I'm looking at our weather forecast for this month, Sept. 27 looks like the first night that drops to 37.

We won't be burning on Sept. 15 like we usually do each year. This coming week we'll be in the high 70's starting on Wednesday.

That is music to my ears! I am so anxious to get burning I can't stand it. Lately I have been sitting in front of the Fireview just staring at it. My kids asked why I was staring at the stove when there was no fire in it ... I told them the fire never goes out, it's just burning in my mind. :)

It's not nice to confuse your own kids.
Yeah Dennis, we're supposed to get 40 tonight too. Nope, 39 now. Had a small fire with some pine and uglies last night about 10, and let it go out.
If the forecast is right  :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: , Oh, I crack myself up sometimes........................anyway, I shouldn't need another fire until the 21st.

Went over my best buds house (joshmain ). We had a fire out in his garage in the old Cemi. Got warm pretty quick.

Last Sat me and the wife were at the Luke Bryan concert and it was 95°. Tonight it was about 30° cooler..

Tomorrow night I will probably start the pellet stove upstairs or fire the wood stove downstairs after tonight's low temp and tomorrow's high temp.
