    They said they do process firewood. I must let you in on this detail though... I am actually a quite charming young woman. I quite often get the go ahead to pick as much as I want from piles. People don't realize I am strong as can be, and work harder than most men. I think they are going to be surprised by my piles of chips tomorrow, and lot less logs!

    Nothing to worry about, that was just the FHC drone taking pics of free wood being scored. ;)

    There's much better wood than cherry, btu wise, but it gives off great blue flames and smells great, before and after its in the stove. I try to get a bit of cherry every year, for variety's sake, and a fire of cherry and shagbark hickory is probably the nicest fire you can have, visually and smell wise.

    Christmas morning hickory and cherry fires are something I really appreciate.

    You gotta be Daryl's sister then:rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:!!!

    You do know the #1 rule on this forum, don't you..... Pics... Or it didn't happen- BUT in this case- proving you're "quite a charming young woman." ???

    If by chance you're related to Daryl, then I say no photographic proof necessary, cause she cornered the market on "charming" a long time ago:rofl: :lol::emb:

    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

    I'm running out of floor to roll and laugh upon simultaneously....

    Dang, I was on a roll bucking small logs out of the way so I can haul back the cherry rounds... then it started raining. We certainly need the rain for the garden, hopefully is moves along quickly as I have a whole mess of rounds and small logs dumped all over. For those who asked about what I burn the wood in, as of yet that is in the planning stages. I have wanted to utilize our home's chimneys, and plan on getting them checked out and a stove installed. Have not researched much yet, but decided since I haves the means and the time to gather c,s,s as much wood as I can. Nice stacks are motivation to get the stove train moving right along. I have been taking pics, just have to figure out how to upload them here. Ooooo, I see the Sun so break time is over. Time to :saw:

    Nice score bud!!!!! However, in the future if you have a choice between Cherry and Ash, always pick the ASH! It is a long burinng, btu producing species. Much more longevity in the firebox than Cherry. Good luck and God Bless

    This is true, take as much of it as you can, it's not as good as some of the major hardwoods like hickory, oak, or sugar maple, but it's a quick drier.:thumbs:

    Well don't laugh but I run an Echo cs400, I have used and abused Echo line trimmers over the years and they never failed on me. I have a real nice place down the road that sells Stihl saws, so I don't have to go far to upgrade. My maul and wedge are Stihl :D
    Tonight I filled the back of the truck with mostly ash rounds. I also find and can get plenty of black locust, actually have a 80-100 year old locust in the corner of my property. If is shows any signs of trouble it probably contains a couple cords. Right now it looks healthy, and tall as can be. My neighbor has a big locust half blown over in their woods hung up. I am hoping it comes down eventually and I can harvest it too. I am not going to mess with it while it is hung up, no firewood is worth getting squished for lol.:rofl: :lol:
