    Hey everybody,

Been a while since I've posted, it's been a busy summer. Anyhow, I have a dolkita 7900 that is giving me fits. It cranks and idles fine but will not spool up no matter how I adjust the carb. It's four stroking hard and will not clean up in the wood. Super rich sounding. Bad coil possibly? Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I am not a chainsaw mechanic, but I would say that the coil is not problem. Probably a carb adjustment or repair is in order.

Did you try a new plug? They can break down and not fire under load good.

Sometimes it's the simplest thing. Had a 576 Autotune mess with me like that. It flooded and fouled the plug. Finally thought to check it before I went crazy.

Is it revving at all? I had one that broke the linkage off the carb (it's plastic) and wouldn't rev at all. If it's the coil, you may want to contact Poleman on AS... he's been putting 272xp unlimited coils in 7900's. Makes tuning them much easier. :)

I vote for a whacked up carb.

I know this is not the same saw. But I was chasing my tail on an earthquake. Rebuilt the carb...not much difference. Hard to get it to four stroke or idle right. Finally did it and it was something crazy like 3-6 turns out on each. Would idle right and rev up to four stroking. Then would just blog out in cut. No power.

A new carb fixed the problem. Your issue sounds similer to mine. I tore that thing apart and looked at everything MULTIPLE times. Looking at all the rubber too.

Have you had the flywheel cover off? If so, you might have crimped or pinched the coil line running to the plug. I did this once. God Bless

Probably the carb, but check that the spark arrestor screen isn't clogged up with carbon. I just fixed a Husky concrete saw that was flooding so badly it was almost impossible to start, and then wouldn't stay running. Mud daubers had built a nest in the muffler, totally blocking the exhaust pipe. After breaking up the mud and shaking out a dozen or so gas-soaked wasp pupae, all was well.

I like was told to me. You can keep trying to clean the carb but sometimes there is junk in those small passages that you just can't clean out. That must of been the case with mine as new diaphrams and needle did nothing. And you need to buy a new one.

I've cleaned it twice and I'm suspecting that may be the case. I'm hoping there's an aftermarket alternative, the carb on this saw is pricey I think.

I lucked up and was working on a chinese saw and therefore all those dirt cheap ebay parts work!!! Think it cost me less than $6 shipped to my door from china for a new one. Granted it was chinese copy where mine was a warblo.. but it fixed saw!!

Maybe you can find a good uses one? Or maybe millermodsaws can hook you up with something? Maybe he has parts saws?
