While she is playing in the dirt, I was making this for last night (and tonight's) dinner. Smoked a chuck roast for about 6 hours and pulled it

Low and slow resulted with this sauce with onions, sweet pepper and shrooms which was used with the beef for sandwiches......fantastic !!!!

    Thanks !!!
For almost 20 years, I thought it looked just fine the way it was....now it looks better and I didnt have to do it most of it. I just play with the fire and chainsaws. Who am I to stand in the way of progress?

Besides, all that dirt just ruins my nails :p

This picture was taken here in Chelsea today. The bird is eating Pizza! Eagles area a common sight around here. We are near the Kennebec River. The Eagles are attracted to this area for the good fishing.

savemoney , we did more sorting in the garage this weekend. Good sized trash and donate piles. What a pita! Still some boxes of papers, and others with alot of small items to sort over the winter, but my truck fits in the garage now :)

How is your project coming along? Are you and the Mrs loving your new home?

Still not settled in. However, this will come it time. So many things to sort out. Haven't hung any pictures or blinds. The tv is mounted on the wall. Hope I am able to keep it there once we arrange the furniture. At least 5 more boxes in the livingroom and 3 in the bathroom. One in the bedroom. I don't know why I waited for a move to sort this mess out. I can't buy much of anything because I have no place to put it! Our space is limited, 26x40, One bedroom, bath, kitchen area and livingroom. Open concept. Lots of windows, 8 of them with one being a picture window and one is a full length window in the door. The dogs love it. no stairs! Nice to have some help keeping up the yard etc. now that our son and his wife are living upstairs. I sat them up with a lot of good furniture. They don't have much of their own. God has been good to me so I am very willing to share.

x2! I am impressed! Very few boxes left for moving 1/2 a lifetime in such a short period of time, WTG!!

I have my essentials, heat, bathroom, kitchen, tv, computer, I am good with that no matter how long it takes :)

That is for what is inside. The garage is full, top to bottom. :(:(:(. Can't even get pellets in!
However, thank you for the positives. It is sort of he half full, half empty thing. once the weather cools some and the humidity lifts, I'll attempt some of those boxes in the garage. My son says he is going to set up a table and put a few boxes on them keeping them going until I get through them. We have boxes and boxes of pictures. A lot came from my parents. I just bought a scanner for slides, pictures that will digitalize the ones I want copies of. Once I have them sorted, I plan to put the originals in boxes for the family that is most connected with them. There will be a general area and they can sort through those on a first come first serve.

Eat your spinach Larry. The mental gymnastics that is sorting/saving/storing/handing down multi-generation keep sakes... can be monumental. It can be done however... and your son has the right plan... just one box at a time, never looking at the mountain, just the one box. I had to force myself to slow down when we cleared 150 years of "lives" from our farm. I convinced myself it was fun and eventually just looked forward to seeing what was in the next box. Took a year, usually 4 pickup loads of junk went to the town transfer station per week too. Some went to donations, some to antique shop... very little was actually kept by extended family. Everything we wanted to keep is now in a big old trunk we found, now on casters in our basement. Good luck. You can do it... :BrianK: ... :D

ION Pics 2 SD Photo, Slide and Film Scanner
upload_2015-9-8_19-52-54.png This hasn't arrived yet, and it will be a while before I tackle the project. Pictures are up to a 5x7, also slides and negatives. I figured the larger pictures are few and can be done on my regular scanner. I have a wand scanner I'll try to use for the photo albums so I don't disturb the pictures. I'll make copies of the digital scans and pass them around. I'll keeps a few originals and pass the others to those who want them. Other wise they will go high into the garage for an unknown fate. I've resigned myself to accept that I can't hold onto everything. Nor do I want to. Neither one of my parents had crates of photos handed down to them. I think they cost too much back then.

It is after 8 pm and still over 80 F here. Too hot and humid to sit outside. Our van is in the garage with an AC issue. The AC in the truck doesn't work. Yuk! This hot hot stuff in September is just unusual for us.
