The time has come in my life where I need to start to become unencumbered with stuff. I am going to begin to sell off some of the goodies that I have acquired over the past 4 decades so my family will not have to deal with the task once I am gone.

To begin the process I started with one of my better items, a 1962 Studebaker 1 ton 4 wheel drive truck with a 9' rack bed.

What is neat about the truck is that the center section of the side rack can either be removed or swung out to allow easy loading. Saves a lot of work as you do not have to load from the rear, which can get old with a 9' bed.

It has auxiliary springs in the rear so you can pile the wood on. I have personally stacked a load as tall as the sides and brought it out of the woods.

No problem with ground clearance here...

Good luck with the auction. I've never sold anything that way. Also, I wish you well trying to thin things out. I'm over my head trying to do the same thing. It is a major change.

We've had a standing rule around here for almost 20 years.......if we haven't used something or even looked at it for a couple years, we need to consider getting rid of it.
We don't always follow that rule.:picard:

E-Bay offers the greatest exposure which is important in this case. A similar 1962 needing full restoration (but with most of the required parts) sold 2 months ago for $20,000. Someone saw it on a car hauler in AZ a couple of weeks ago. In 1975 that truck was about 35 miles from me and could have been bought for $1500 but I did not have the money.

I wonder if any "unused" saws make the list of things that have to go...

Nice. Never knew they even made one with a 4-wheel drive option. That would be a cool truck to keep working and restore!

    Thats an awesome truck!!!

Does it run? Like could an owner drive it home? Well probably not. Brakes may need going through?

I know you hate to see it go!

Time is running out folks, just a little over 8 hours left!!

Gary it doesnt look like this auction was noticed by the buyers you were hoping you would reach!

That thing got back in running and safe braking condition would be a cool truck just as it sits! Id love to drive that thing to the woods and see the faces as I drove around town!

Oh chit. I hope that beauty and beast doesn't sell for anything near that! What a workhorse it must be. Some real value there. Stay strong on your price until you find the right buyer man.

I sold my father's Ford F150 for him on ebay. We came to reasonable reserve, and the bidding went over that. (good because it was in exceptional condition). I will do it again if the need arises.

Hmmm :tears:, quit cutting, splitting, stacking and burning wood, then take all that time that I would have to fix up that beauty . Well then the shop would be cold all winter, the heating bil would be just stupid and I'd have no extra money to fix up the truck:eek:. One of life's harder decisions :loco: ! Well then there is the lottery:hair:. I love the "vintage" trucks, esp. rare models. Good luck:thumbs:.

    p.s. - do I get any points for lot's of smiley's?

Disappointed in the bidding, hasn't moved in 5 days. Unless something drastic happens in the next 6 hours I do not see it selling.
