Here are a few pics from the log pile, like I said earlier starting to make a dent. Loaded the trailer this morning almost full with what was left over from being split yesterday. Did some more cutting and splitting, topped the trailer off and started getting hot. Stack this trailer load when it starts to cool off later. Time for a "sammich"
WoW! Cutting & splitting on scene is a great time and back saver. Plus the equipment to help make it happen.
Lol... maybe more than 10 year. I figure I have already cut in the neighborhood of about 13 or 14 cord out of it since May. Still a heck of alot left.
DUDE, I would LOVE to have that in my driveway/yard/field or all of the above. "sandwich" Just to clarify, the correct FHC spelling is sammy or sammich. Well, it is in my mind.
Holy smokes!!!!!! Hoarder times a hundred, (HOARDER X 100) = 'slottawood! Heheh. Good job digging into it, WVhunter.
Very cool! Nice equipment and a worthy job to use them. Where did the log pile come from, clearing land?
Thanks, i appreciate it. I have started a few other "Log Pile" threads with some different pics and posts kinda showing how I got all this wood. But to answer your question, yep had 42 acres of my farm select cut or a widlife cut as they call it. Part of my contract was for them to pile me up a bunch of the hard wood pulp for my cutting pleasure. Sure makes it easy and beats me having to run all over the farm gathering up wood. Lol.....
I'm impressed, quite the little (or maybe big) operation you have going on there. For the amount of wood you are cutting it's always nice to have the equipment to do the job right. No need to hurt yourself with too much manual labor. Very Nice
Nice! What is your favorite saw? I think I see 4 different brands there. I'm interested in a smaller, 50ish cc saw that is ligter than my '44 and still has some "snap" to it.
I see in the first picture your splitter doesn't have any log catchers on it and then in the last picture here, it has one on the front and the back, did you just put them on today? And Did your splitter come with the holes drilled and tapped already to mount a log catcher on the front and back? Or did you drill your own holes? cuz my Huskee only came with holes drilled and tapped to mount one on the back.
That little Stihl 241 is a screamer for sure, but only 42cc. Two of the saws are 60cc and one is a 70cc saw. Alot of good 50cc saws out there.
