First fire

    So, I'm sittin' here mindin' my own beeswax, when my wife asks if I plan to have a small fire to "take the chill off".
    I say no, but I will.....to which she replies, "well, it's a little chilly in here".
    Been making some kindling outta' my cutoff pile in the shop, so I walked ALL the way out there for some of that and got a little fire going.
    She's now snoozing on the loveseat next to me, and the air is getting a little less chilly.
    I like it.

    By "next to me", I mean that I'm in my computer chair and she's on the loveseat.
    Just put 3 Pine splits on the kindling coals, and turned down the air. Cruisin' at about 400 with the blower on low.
    I'm comfy. Was planning to put on a sweatshirt until she mentioned my favorite word.......ok, my 2nd favorite word.......FIRE.

    Nice fire, we had a high of 68 here today, but it is still 72 in the house even though the windows were open a lil all day

    The first fire is the best one!! After a few dozen, I can't wait till the last one. :) lol

    It's hard to believe the summer has gone by this fast!!

    Time to start preparing and getting wood moved (and the stoves cleaned :( )

    I had one too, was outside all day with the windows open in the house by the time I came in it was almost dark, 62 in the house so, I said what the heck, fire it up.

    About 2 hours in here burning pine chunks

    Yep, the kindling went away pretty quick, then I loaded 3 Pine splits which lasted almost 3 hours.
    House was warm when I went to bed. Nice.

    Dave, if she were on a couch perhaps you could be excused, but you typed love seat. Perhaps in the future you could take a hint better?!

    Don't blame you at all for the fire and it always seems nice, especially if you've had some rain. No rain here and 65 today. Haven't seen the sun for a couple days.

    And now it's been so hot and muggy, I installed the window shaker.
    Nice and cool in here now.......ahhhhh.
    Should be much cooler this time next week.
