My dang android phone has gone into battery eat mode!!! I goes dead so fast. Not sure what happened but its like 2x as fast as it use to be. I even got a replacenment battery that is the same brand as phone and made no difference. Phone is not quite 2 years old and it was like all of a sudden it started using battery like crazy?

If you are in an area with poor reception your phone will really go through the battery trying to find a good signal.

That is true old man. But I am in the exact same areas that I was a year and a half ago when I got my phone and it would last all day. Now out won't last all day. Its a notice able increase in consumption of power. I plug it in and it barely charges. Pretty much stays constant with on And off use. Takes twice as long to charge it if all it does is sit there n charge.

Double check your screen settings. I've accidentally turned it up and had my phone eat battery. And charging speed could be a bad charger or cable.

I change the screen settings almost daily. Thats not it. And I use three or 4 different chargers a day.

The things that use the most battery are not apps there android processes further making me think something in the system has gone crazy. I use it a good bit and those apps are still a tiny amount of power consumption. This one shows wifi up high its usually not that high. I do turn it off sometimes to save power. Not sure why it was so high in the list here? This is from a week ago out so. But it does not change really when I look Screenshot_2015-08-08-23-59-29.png

IF you are on the fringe of a wifi area you can burn through you battery when your phone detects the wifi signal that keeps coming and going. I remember one day being at work for an hour and when I checked on my phone it has gone from 100% to 20% due to this. Also, have you recently upgrade you phone's software? If not, maybe you should. IF you have, could that be the problem?

It does it if I am in the truck too. No WIFI out there.

I see where your idea could pose a problem. In the last few months they did put in WIFI at the office and I am as far from bit as you can get on the fringe. But thats not my problem as it will eat it up in my house or on the road unlike it use to.

Think there is no memory left for software upgrades. I have thought of that though.

Your cell standby is crazy high mines only 3℅. But that's probably due to network strength. Troubleshooting android is a pain now due to fragmentation.

Looks like you're on JellyBean so battery life "should" be good. However, sometimes after awhile, the phone just gets discombobulated and needs to be reset. If you can't identify a wayward app and nothing seems to show up, you may have to bite the bullet and do a factory reset. However, be warned that it will completely wipe all YOUR data, pictures, music, etc., so a backup is mandatory (unless there's something on there you don't want to keep :p). That will put your phone back to a virgin state and then just add the apps back until you find the one that is causing issues. Your apps are backed up on Google's servers, so it's just a matter of re-entering you Google account info and it does a reasonably good job of putting back your stuff, at least most of it.
My phone is now going on 3 years and unless it blows up, I'm staying on it, but Google is now into Lollipop (5.1.1) and Marshmallow (6) is around the corner, so more potential screwups are sure to follow (hello Google Play Services). That's one of the reasons I went to a custom ROM (Cyanogenmod 12.1) from KitKat (it's a very long story) and battery is now fairly "acceptable".

Yea I hadnt really put any new apps on before or after. It actually started coinciding with the week I installed the FHC app but no one else had the issue?

I am getting a backup program to get ready for a factory reset. I will screen cap later today my batter use age and the graph!!

The battery use age chart use to not be like that. Chrome screen and tap a talk and other apps were up top and the rest of that pushed down to the bottom. Then like over night the android processes rose to top and dwarfed the other use age.

Before you do a reset run it in safe mode. If the problem goes away you've just got an app that's misbehaving.

I guess we are now way off topic, but I can't let a question go without an answer (my apologies to the OP and everyone else). I don't know what phone you have but from your description, perhaps a Samsung? If so here is how to operate in safe mode: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/skp/faq/1028658

If you touch the graph it should pull up some more info. Take a screenshot of it. How much data are you using?

Here it is. The flat lines are me not touching it I guess. Any shape dive is it being used. The charge was a 30min trip home. Sent like 6 texts on way home thats it. And it just kind of kept it steady?

I even got a battery app after all this that auto kills when asleep. It seems to help some but not much? Screenshot_2015-09-01-19-10-47.png

Ok so I put it in safe mode the last hour or so. Battery still nose diving. Not as bad bit still at about 90% the rate it has been.

So I. Safe mode its not consuming as much battery as in normal mode. But still faster than before this issue. Which can be assumed since none of my apps are running and gathering data.
