Go buy another one.......they'll turn up as soon as you bring the new one home.

I lost my chainsaw wrench-screwdriver tool a couple years ago when cutting dead standing trees after running out of wood. Retraced my path through the snow looking and looking. Yep, found it in the garage where I had put it after cutting :emb::hair::doh:

One of the pitfalls of being organized and no memory.

That reminds me, the other day I was looking all over for my gloves and found them in my (other) back pocket:picard:

This reminds me of all the times on my job where I start looking for where I set my glasses and then find them hanging on my shirt collar right where I put them or looking for my pen for several minutes while I am holding it in my mouth.

Now to the original question, I think the only 2 things I have lost in the woods are my safety glasses and file guide. Went back a day later and found my file guide but never did find my safety glasses that I dropped in the snow.

I lost a pocket knife, the kind with the pocket clip on it. It would catch on a branch just the right size & place. It was only about a $30 Schrade or something but I like the clip. I was not traumatized by it's loss and don't even remember loosing it. Well on another walkaround, I found it, clipped to a branch right at waist level. I have over 700 ac. and what's the chance of that. If it were a highly valued "heirloom" knife, I know I wouldn't be so lucky.

I am in the process of using that technique. I can't find either of my GPSs so I ordered a new one yesterday. I expect to unpack and wire it into my bike before either of the old ones shows up.

Was that the Great Chainsaw Incident? Emma looks so cool in the crate. That's a good pic of Murphy too.

No wonder you lost your logging chain--it was only 25 inches long:banana: Maybe you meant 25':BrianK:

I lost a 3 battery D-cell Maglite bringing in a deer. Found it the next deer season, turned it on and it was fine. May have lost a Buck 110, but I really think it was put somewhere following our ugly flood a couple years back. Holding out hope...
