    And the results are in:

    eq4518 -- 53.6 seconds
    stihl 026 -- 19.4 9 (16" .325 chisel)
    357xp -- 13.98 (18" .325 chisel)
    359 -- 11.63 (20 3/8 semi chisel) -- couldnt find a loop of chisel

My 026 cost the same as the eq4518 and 357/9's weigh the same as a 4518 so I figured they were good comps. The 4518, 026 and 357 are completely stock and the 359 has been muffler modded and I did some grinding on the transfers. Trying to upload vid's but I gotta figure out how to convert the files for you tube.

It took one minute to cut!!! Also a 359 is a 60cc saw!!

True test is to take the cat out of the muffler.

Good video! Looked like I saw sawdust in the video.. Is the chain real sharp and is it as good a chain as the better saws?

That is the chain that came with the saw, it was brand new... only been used for three cuts.

Oh and I got new files too (again). So far, all have had them. The one, was under the bottom cardboard box flap, but it was there :)

That 4518 sounded way fat in the cut. The chips looked good, but I would liketo see another video with it tuned and running properly.

They probably tune them fat for longevity. They need at least one a Muff mod and a tune.

Yup you can hear the difference in the 026! Thinking your right the EQ can't rev like the 026 but to be fair they should also have equal chains once the mod is performed..

You get what you pay for; how much is your time worth? (I've only got 125ish into the 359)

That 4518 was tuned to 11000 rpm -- the max rpm spec'd. I'll lean it out some and see how it does.

ETA: I was wrong it was actually at 11500 in that vid. It came at 11k from the factory.

I don't recall the 023 specs but I think it revved higher than that.. Is the EQ a vertical cylinder saw too?

Ok, read the first half of this thread, will finish it after lunch. How light is this saw? Would it work good for ladder work? Who is mounting a pole and making a pile saw of it?

It's a split case saw; not a clamshell.

They aren't light... the specs say

    38 -- about 10 pounds
    41 -- 11.6
    45 -- 12.5

(no chainsaw is good for ladder work)
