Nice three saw plan. Now you need to get a "back up" three saw plan. In case anything happens to any of your primary saws. You're welcome.
Can confirm. A couple of days ago one saw wouldn't start, one wouldn't idle, and a third was awaiting parts. Good thing I had 2 more saws.
If I had half as many saws as my wife has pairs of shoes, and handbags, I would need another garage bay.
Good saws. Feed it just a little more oil than recommended by manufacturer. They run great and will last a long time, but being a strato, the piston is on the heavy side. It puts a little more stress on the lower end. A tick more oil will help keep the lower in good order for many, many years. You'll be impressed with the power and cut speed of that saw. Not to mention quite smooth.
2172 is a great saw!! I have the 2171 (non strato) and it is a running machine! Looking forward to your thoughts on that beast!!
I just checked the tracking Dex, it will be here today. I may try and run it a little this evening after work. May have to make it an early out. Lol.....
As cgraham1 showed, they are a great saw. I love the 372/2172 and their related versions. Pound for pound, they are hard to beat. You are going to love it. Great firewood cutter with enough power to be a great tree feller. All at about the same weight as a 290-390 Stihl, with tons more power and speed. God Bless
Welcome to FHC WV Mountaineer .... I had to take a double take on reading that reply. Trying to figure out why he was replying to himself like that....... Then I realized it after seeing the joined dates...
Believe it or not, I happen to know WVHunter very well. He's a decent fella. Gotta good saw coming too. Now, If I can just talk him into cutting and splitting me some wood, all will be well.
I'm not sure if I know Griz or not but, wvhunter was the one that told me about this forum. Once joining, I recognized his avatar pic of his ole buddy as he never told me his screen name. We were talking on the phone the other day about some business when the talk went to saws. I work as a forester and love cutting wood. Combine that with my interest in tinkering with chainsaws and he knew I'd like hanging out here. I don't watch TV. :^) So, here I am. I fell two dead 20" Red Oak tonight above my house and, got them cut up ready to bust. Finished maul splitting up the WO I started on the other day. Life is good. If I could only figure out how to get within 50 yards of them with my truck. I need a wagon for my atv. :^) God Bless
Another forester! I think that makes three of us now. I think he and I had talked about forestry before. Can't remember if he mentioned you or not...seems like he has
