market oil this am at $1.51, should equate to $1.91-2.01 depending on your dealer. old rule was $.40 over market. guess that varies with trans. cheaper yet ,though.

 

We're still at $2.69.

 

that is like the prostate exam, hanover,ma dealer 2.029 as of Monday. looks like we'll be 5-105 under $2.00 to start winter. i'll be installing a new boiler this fall. dealer tells me I should see a 30-35% reduction in fuel. with semi retirement and less income I will not complain. much lower and the pressure will be on wood and pellet prices, just has to. hope the margins for these folks can absorb it.

Honestly I want to build my next house. A house that I can heat with wood only. Put solar on the roof for hot water with a propane backup. The propane would also serve to run a whole house generator. Yes I know propane is a byproduct of oil. However; my consumption would be much lower than what I currently use today.

Was 2.49 early last week, went to 2.69, then to 2.99 in 2 days.
Back down to 2.75 today.

 

401K's are taking a big hit with the oil prices falling. China is trying to keep its economy from taking a nose dive from overgrowth. It is a re adjustment, this time global. I would like to see manufacturing return home. This state is full of factories that closed their doors because it was cheaper to due business elsewhere.

The readjustment is predictable, however, this one could have 401 k's taking a huge dip. It is the nature of a market. On the bright side, the US economy remains strong.
Monday will start out rough, more importantly will be how the week ends.
