Don't get me wrong I like a little help sometimes but I really enjoy the solitude of working by myself a lot more. For me it is like meditation being outside, being productive and getting my thoughts together. Anyone else feel this way?
Absolutely, working firewood by myself is my time to get my head straight. I don't endorse working firewood by yourself. It's dangerous. Especially felling.
Yep, usually when I'm by myself. Seriously though, I do 99% or more alone, and prefer it that way. I can be a little "particular" about how things get done, so it works out gooder. I like the solitude that allows me to solve the world's problems.
Yes ! When I work alone I prefer to be by myself. I like the solitude, working at my own pace and doing it my way And I don't have to worry about someone else getting hurt, cuz they are not being carful enough
Yep I can get into the zone. I dont have to get explain myself 12 times. But some parts are more prone to help than others. But I've always preferred to working on my own.
I don't like other people bucking my logs. I want them 18ish inches, not somewhere between 15 and 22.
I always work by myself. I don't like looking over my shoulder for the whereabouts of someone else, hoping that they are a safe distance away when I am felling.
I do some of my best thinking when I'm alone in the woods, the problem is I forget most of it when I get back to the house.
I work alone processing fire wood almost all the time. I am somewhat of an introvert and not only enjoy it, but need the time to myself. Luckily for me my wife and kids help get all the wood stacked when it is time. Then help me move it under cover and re stack it when that time comes too. I really enjoy that time with them. The solitude is especially nice when you are around people for 40-50 hours for the work week.
I always work alone felling, bucking, hauling out. When it comes to stacking Jane likes to help if its cool out. I like to work at MY pace which may be fast or very slow depending on the day and my mood. The woods out back are my cathedral a place to work hard and play hard and solve all the worlds troubles. I find I do this best by myself .
I don't really mind the help when felling and bucking, just as long as it's someone I trust and I know they won't cut each log at 12" at a 30° angle. But when splitting and stacking, I like putting in a pair of headphones to drown out the engine noise and going at it alone.
Man can I relate to that... My B-I-L can't cut 2 rounds to the same length ever! I'd rather do it my self. Same for splitting and stacking. Do it once, do it right.
There is a time for socializing and there is a time for meditation. Wood processing is MY meditation time. It fulfills many things that I enjoy.......................................
Yep, most of mine is done by myself and I guess I really prefer it like that. Gives me a chance to think and clear my head. Although one of my dogs will usually come along, LOL....
I normally love it when my dogs hang out with me when I'm working outside, but I'll occasionally get that cold nose to the small of the back when sitting on a cinder block running the splitter. Or that unsuspecting lick on the ear or side of the face when leaning over.
