I'm curious with most people saying there better off and more prepared for the upcoming winter what everyone's feeling so here's the poll!

About the same here. Perhaps just a tad more but not enough to hardly mention. We'll call it even. But what we cut last year is still not stacked.

I have way more wood in the stacks, but the vast majority is for after this year. This year's wood supply is a bit over 1 cord; need to bring in 2 cords of dead standing elm in September. While I have about 7 cord I could burn this winter, I know it will be better with one more year of seasoning and I am hoping to avoid using any of it. The dead standing elm I will be cutting is without bark and measures in the teens (usually).

I've got probably close to 3 full cord cut and stacked in the lean to I'm hoping to use as emergency only, that much I'm ahead but overall I'm about the same as last year, and 20 times better off than our first year (2 winters ago)
I try to run to the dump and get a load of dead pine once every 2 weeks in the winter when I've got more time so that makes it hard to say exactly how much I burn

I voted better for the simple fact last year was my first year. Albiet I found info late winter 2 years ago from this site and the other one many also frequent. Got busy early (end of February) cutting, splitting, and stacking, got a moisture meter, stacked the really wet stuff for this year and kept the driest possible for last year. Still had quite a bit in the mid 20s mc but mixed it with the really dry elm I found plenty of on one property I cut on. This all my wood should be sub 20 without a doubt, I've checked all stacks to be burned and all are at 20-21 right now. I'm REALLY excited to see the difference!!!

    Firewood '15/'16...check
    Firewood '16/'17...check
    Firewood '17/'18...check
Firewood '18/'19...I'd need to go measure and crunch some numbers, but probably.
More on the way too!

More than what I need for this coming winter, and a little more than half of what I need for next winter. I'd like to put up about 3 full cords of Maple for next year, then get back at the Oak, then more Maple, then more Oak, then .......well, you get the idea.

Man if I had that kind of time! I'd probably just take on fifteen more projects anyways and not have enough time for what I want to do:whistle:

What I didn't mention in my last post is that I'm WAY behind. Several factors lead to that situation, but I hope to rectify (at least partially) soon.

I'm way better off than last year. I finally got ahead this year. Almost done with next years wood and there is a good 10 more cords of oak on the ground to be split/stacked. I burn 5ish cords a year.

I have more than enough wood. Now I need to be sure I don't sell TOO much.:emb: Then have to burn less than well seasoned wood in the late winter. (The last late winter was suppose to be early spring!:picard:)

I said about the same as last year but truth be known probably better off than last year. Have the same amount I'd say split and stacked but still another 3 cords to split.
Burnt around 4 last year have 22 split and stacked nuff said.

One farm I was cutting on in the spring until it got too hot is up for sale but if he doesn't sell before it cools down Locust Post is a droppin' and haulin more locust.....don't know where I'm going to put it but I'll figure out something.

I topped off my last stack over the weekend. I am 3+years ahead. So I'm better off than last year.
