Last winter I used 2.5-3 cords, burning part time from Oct to mid-Dec and full time up to March and then burning part time again.

Local lads are hard to find these days. At least ones willing to do physical work? "Spilt wood?i think I have an app for that".

A bit less than 3 cords of pine last year. Approximately 2400 sq feet. Wood heat only.

Yea seems like no kids want to work anymore. I try to make it fun for mine so they don't always realize they are working.

Most of the folks around me are retired. I'm the only one dumb enough to commute from out here....being the youngest around here I guess I'm the "lad"! :axe:

I burn usually 3 cord +/- .5 in the last 5 or 6 years ( I cant remember :hair:) ... I gained a bit from switching from the NC13 to the NC30, but that was expected. However its a lot easier to manage my work schedule with the bigger stove....

Due to longer burn time? How long on the 30 compared to the 13? I know that question is for a different forum but just just this 1 question I promise:whistle:

Well with Hedge and Locust... The NC-13 I would see a drop off after 8 hours but the NC30 it would be 12-13. But the kicker in my house is the duration of that cold temperature. The NC13 I was fine to about 25 degrees, but drop that to 15. I had to work at it to keep the heat at the at a certain level. Below 10 degrees was almost too much effort. However the with 30, I gained an addition 12 degrees in temperature drop. Now I have to work at it at negative degrees. Which is a big factor...

Wow much better. I'd like to have one of those in my shop someday. I won't tell the blaze king story. I don't feel like getting hit with rotten tomatoes.

I chose 3-5 but in a bad winter like the last 2 it should be 5-7. That's with an old stove and 100% of heat coming from wood.
