Sitting in the middle of the road this evening. Can't trust it with an overhead load though. I saw it get run over. But for pulling trees over it should do. And there's a big balsam fir directly behind my camp that needs to be cut down.....

Nice. Is this the road find thread? lol I've had a few.....

One time me and my wife were driving past a Ford dealership and I spotted the yellow handles of a pair of Klein pliers in the road. You might call 'em locking pliers or channel locks depends on where you're from. Technically they are pump pliers and most importantly, they're mine. I whipped in the Ford lot and parked just as another dude was doin' a u-turn at the end of the block. I snagged 'em and she asked me why I was laughin'. I just said, "Kleins."

I've found some good stuff like that too. I've found a 4 battery mag light, a chain binder, some screwdrivers, a large crescent wrench, a pair of regular channel locks and a pair of slip joint pliers. Just to name a few.

if I stopped every time I saw something I could use, I would never get to where I am going.

I found him in the middle of the road in 2006. Lady did not know the humane society had put a chip in him. She was ticketed for dumping him and not calling him in as lost for 10 days, and given to us :) (the black one)

How about money? Been a while since I've found dollar bills on the side of the road.

The guys at work make fun of me cause I pick up every penny I see, unless it's a funky area. Last big find I found $100 walking into the ymca. Actually felt kind of bad and was hoping to hear someone say they lost it, no one went to the front desk either about it.

I used to shop at a small out of town grocery store with change cups. I could not help but look in them when I checked out. I traded out new pennies for the older pennies. Bit of a mystery, there were many 1964 pennies in the cups over the last 20 years, wish I knew why.

I found a mattress in the middle of the freeway that I could not avoid, best choice I had was to run right over it with my truck and empty trailer, luckily no damage, called the authorities to report it, Wow an accident just waiting to happen there:startled:

    From an earlier post...

When I was growing up we lived in the city. Down the block from the house was a main drag with four gas stations, one on each corner. Our block was one way towards the gas stations, the next block one way from them. The mechanics would test drive the cars down one street and up the next.

In front of our house in the street was a large cover for a subterranean pipe vault. It was always warped and in need of repair. At least once or twice a week I would find some type of tool near that vault cover. Usually sockets or other small parts but occasionally hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, gauges, etc...

The mechanics would loose them in the engine. During the test drive, when the car hit the bump, they would shake out the bottom. I still have a large tool box full of these odd pieces and am amazed how many times I look in there and find just the item I need.

Found an edger attachment for a weedeater style power head yesterday. Wasn't really in the road but in the trash can in the alley. Little channel lock work to make the end round again and it was good to go.
